bumper strips

this might sound a bit of a stupid question, but i keep seeing people have gloss black bumper strips, think they look good and want to do mine. whats the best way to get such a good, glossy finish to them?

paint them gloss black? lol love the reflections i get in mine (nice bit of ASW'ing)

Get some old news papers, some masking tape, few cans of primer, few cans of gloss black and a few cans of primer. I did it today with a mate, took us ages but it's definitely worth it!

that yours? looks sweet ;) how did u get them smooth? just sand them down loads yeah? bodywork isnt my thing really, better with the greasy & oily bits underneath :P ahah

got a bodyshop to do mine mate, usually when people to it DIY they come out black but not shiney or smooth

im not sure to give it a go or not :/ im pretty handy with a spray can, its just i would have to do it on the car as i hate working with body panels haha. so its quite hard to smooth them down yeah?

deffinitely would take some time to sand all the texture away, if i was doing it id take all the kit off the car, i recently replaced my front arch and had to spray the little bit of bump strip to match the rest i did an alright job but I can tell it not quite as good as the rest of the strips
