alternator stator small??

Went to halfords today and got an alternator and battery test, and the guy said the alternator stator was small what does this mean??

My battery light comes on in the dash is this related??

Clean the contacts on the alternator, that cured my battery light flashing in high rev's / heavy load.

That was just the halfrauds guy bigging himself up trying to make out he knew what he was talking about.:y:As said clean the contacts mate.
