bought a vts bout 2 weeks ago and the 1st week it ran like a dream with no problems then 1 night i jumped in it to go to the shop and it didnt start so got a mate to give me a jump and it started but kept dying unless u revved it so took it a wee run out of the twn and when i was entering the town agaian i put my foot on the clutch to change dwn a gear and the engine died so i bumped it to start it again and when i did this the headlights started flashing on and off and the dashboard lights were flashing on and off, so i pulled in and stopped and the engine died and when i tried to start it again nothing happened. thats been a week now and still have no idea whats causing this, doesnt even start with a jump now. when u turn the key a relay clicks and thats it

can anyone enlighten me to the cause of my problem

cheers gee

Cou;d be a few things mate. Check all fuses and relays etc, then check all engine earths and then check all sensors to make sure they're secure. If you can get hold of a multimeter then check the alternator too while you're there.

Also, i had this on my vts conversion but it was the MAP sensor iirc (it was on the left of the intake, has three wires coming from it so check that) but mine never had any troubles on the dash, jsut died when there were no revs and ran like a sack of shit.

I also had trouble with my alternator which did stuff like this, headlights played up, relays clicking all the time and other electrical issues.
My alternator had a constant feed coming off of it even when the car was off, which caused the battery to drain whenever the car wasn't running.
