Hi everyone. I've been on here before looking for advice but only recently joined this.
Just saying hi and this is my current car, and my second Saxo :y:
What do you all think? It's got a couple of mods:
Lowered 40mm (spax VSX)
Cat-back
K&N Induction Kit
Tinted rear windows
Any more anyone can suggest? I'm open for idea's lol. I just don't want to go OTT, want it to look standard-ish ;)

I'm new to the site to. 1thing I am planning to do is remap it. I don't think it's that expensive, and there will photo ably be someone on the site that can do it.

Hi, and I have looked into that, well a chip anyway. I work in a tuning garage for evo's and got my boss to look up a chip for my Saxo and it £250 from superchips but it only worth 6BHP. Granted though that's not technically a re-map. You got any engine mods on your? because you need some to get the best from a re-map. Plus gotta find someone that could do it :)

No, no mods as of yet. I only got the car Friday. I had a look on eBay and found 1 for 150. Looked in to it and it takes the car from 90bhp to 103 (without mods) and with a remap it will give you the power through out the hole rev range.

Oh right, that's for the mk1 then, what would it do for the mk2 98bhp one? :D

Welcome :D Sax is looking good and in good condition! :y:
Dont know too much on what you can do to keep it standard-ish but modified too.. set of nice alloys maybe?

a nice subtle drop of maybe 40mm or so possibly on some nice alloys?
glossed bumpers/bumpstrips?
Don't chip a VTR, it's pointless.
Gunny110, yours will be 90bhp as its a crossover year.
For power, just do decent breathing mods, I.e, decent induction, mani, cat back, decat etc
Also, get some 266mm brakes as the standards are wank.

Thanks ray, was getting abit confused. I don't see how chips work to be honest. Every engine is different. I don't trust just pluging something in to your car and going yep all done. When if you get it mapped it sits on a dyno with an experienced mapper mapping it to get the best out of the car.
Exactly.
But if you want to map it etc, then do breathing stuff first, chuck a cam in there then map it.

Ok ray, what cams do I put on the car, and how hard is it to do?
Depends what you're after dude.
Best bet is to look in the engine/performance section :y:

I just replaced the whole air box and intake for a simple to fit £15 cone filter on ebay. Sounds much better and goes a little quicker too. Also by removing the resonator it spits and pops like an angry scotsman

Resonator?

Thanks :D have been thinking of alloys. Been looking at OZ's, any others that you think would look good?

Lol, I don't think the brakes are too bad on it. But I would get better pads when they need doing though :) And I've got a cat-back, so it's just the mani left, which would de-cat it anyway. What's a good make of manifold and exhaust?
