Greeny's VTR Progress

So managed to get my hands on a vtr about a month ago for 850 quid.
Not a great car needed quite a few things doing to it.
Only good thing was Paintjob to be honest.
But anyway, This is how i got it.

Then set about getting some VTR badges to put on it as the original ones were taken off when the previous owner had it painted...

Then followed by replacing the Gearknob and gaitor as the one on there had rusted bolts on top of it and really not nice at all...

saw that on ebay, was going to make a bid but never did! good base you got! whats your plans and nice to see another local member :)

Also it had a standard exhaust manifold on there which was blowing and had exhaust paste on it :wall:

So i decided to replace that with a 4-2-1 sportex manifold and de-cat.
And replaced the front springs as it was lowered 100mm..... which was way too low and as a result of that making the driveshaft slightly pointing upwards therefore ripping the inner boots out...
so i replaced them with 40mm springs to keep the car level the rear of the car.

hah yes i am but i sometimes drop into ramsgate abit as i used to live there and also the other halfs family live there!

so have you sorted the exhaust out or not? i got a cheap racetube that bolts onto the manifold to back box you could buy if you wanted?

ill keep an eye on this :)

Next thing was to put some stickers on the rear.
I know some people dont like them so all opinions welcome but i personally dont like it completely plain on the rear with no badges or stickers :y:

Yeah i managed to sort the exhaust its fine now. The only thing that needed doing was the manifold the rest was fine. Just the one bit he didn't replace...

Had a week off work this week fo thought i would get busy and get a few bits done.
Went for a trip to halfords to get some cans to spray interior!

Well eventually i will get it done all black when i have the money for it but its not too bad for the moment. It's pearlescent aswell so very nice in the sun.

as for the badges i got them off ebay, but they aren't for sale anymore off the company i got them off O.o

and yeah i think i still have the springs at work, il get back to you on tuesday when i go back.

Next thing was to get rid of those horrible steel wipers :wacko:
and replace them with some flat-bladed ones
And to get some new chrome washer jets as the ones i had when i got it were 2 different types...

Managed to Get my Angel eyes in today!
They are looking pretty sexy, only downpoint is im still needing another bumper and headlight trim because clips broken on the N/S so there is a small gap between bumper and trim but still looking nice.

This thread started with loads off potential but then u put a tacky shifter on it ruined a gd paint job wit stickers chose a random colour for the dash red trims on mirror caps

Nothing matches lookes better when you first got it

the colour for the dash isn't random and the door mirrors and badges are the same colour as the interior now...
And as i said earlier stickers are not everyone's thing and own opinions are welcome

Thanks! yea it's not bad, but whoever had it before me wasn't very good at keeping it up.
So the arch's and sideskirts gave some gaps in them and starting to flake and crack.
So eventually i will get the standard VTR kit on it and have a re-spray all black.
Need new bumper aswell as clips are broken on the N/S and headlight trim is aswell. So got quite a lot to do but should be nice in the end! :y:

My Wind Deflectors decided to turn up today and was a little scared of fracturing them. But managed to do them fine with no problem.
A good £33 well spent i think!

haha, nah only really have them because they are quite comfortable for the moment until i take the plunge into a numb bum lol
