im pleased its not a turbo - its group 13 insurance

i'll turn it into a full turbo replica

sti kit - turbo bonnet etc

cheaper running costs aswell

7th August 2006, 16:37
i would, how old are you ? and what is the difference in the insurance ?

shaggers_saxvtr
7th August 2006, 18:04
I would mate, worth more than the cab anyway so if u wanted you could just sell it on and bust out a nice profit! The scoob looks nice anyway, I love them!

Reef

faster then the cab even in non-turbo trim.

deek06
7th August 2006, 18:58

Would be a complete waste of time tbh. Your cab wont be much slower and looks better as every one laughs and says, couldnt afford a turbo one.

i wouldnt mate, save up for a year or two and get a proper one.

i like the way the guy is pointing to the scuff on the bumper! lol

GreenSaxo
7th August 2006, 21:28
i would mate.. be great for the winter.. unlike ur cab... still 4wd and pretty fast... a second faster to 60.. and would handle good when it gets icy :P

Daniel_VTR

thats not 2001, bug eye was out then

its got a y-reg car. so that makes it a 2001 car..

8th August 2006, 00:37
no dont do it mate :P

Tupps
8th August 2006, 08:07
i dont fancy a reg top in the winter - id rather have 2" of snow ontop of a scoob than a 306 cabriolet!

scooby will be easier to sell aswell!

especially if i make it a turbo lookalike - 5" jap style exhaust - turbo bonnet - lower it quite abit - sti bumpr extensions - sorted!

looks shite, keep the cab. whats the point having a scoob without a tubby

S9_DAN
8th August 2006, 08:20
i would go for the Scooby, if i was you. I would have a few little bits around which i could offer you from things i have changed on my scooby mate ;)

well mine started out like a standard UK Turbo 2000

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a350/dans_saxo_vtr/Lozsubs.jpg

and now she looks like this

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a350/dans_saxo_vtr/subaru.jpg

I have pretty much all the origional parts, apart from the wheels ! I am looking at getting rid of the lights that are on it now and getting some standard ones so if interested in a swap let me know ??

Tupps
8th August 2006, 08:45
Those lights look ok to me!

Plans (if i actually go ahead and get it) - Jap exhaust - probs sell the 18"s that are on it now and put some black 17"s on - new bumpers all round (or sti extentions?) - lower it - turbo bonnet - bigger rear spoiler - possible light conversions ;)

Nice job youve done with yours mate - looks the dogs

Cheers mate, yeah i just think it is just a little to much Blue with the Fog light covers on, kind of looses the look at the front of it been a Subaru ! Are you going to Trax? I would seriously go for it if i was you, espically with the winter 4WD cant ask for much more to be honest !

Tupps
8th August 2006, 09:15
what date is it on mate? - might be a mission if i have enough time to get the car done!

its not just the fact of 4wd in the winter - ive always fancied a sport (i couldn't afford to insure and run a turbo)

IMO it'll be much easier to sell a Y plate impreza sport than an S plate 306 cab (never know if i get back into the modifying scene with the scoob i might go all out (interior, ice etc)

S9_DAN
8th August 2006, 09:19
its on 3rd September !

yeah it would be a lot easier to sell the Subaru then the cab, my mate had a bit of trouble selling his cab a few months back! !

i would go for it, you never know, if you get back into the scene, and do all the ICE, Interior etc etc you may by that time be able to afford to put a Turbo engine or WR1 engine in it, then it would be a rocket!

i would go for it mate

Tupps

thanks for the advice people!

im starting to get the urge to make it inito a beasty!

will let you all know what happens

Cheers Dan - Added rep

no probs, if you want to know anything else about them then let me know or try Scoobynet (www.scoobynet.com)

If you do go for it i will give you a list of places and Scooby breakers where you will be able to get a lot of the parts from and i am still working on mine and may be changing the bonnet next so let me know ! ;)

will be a nice little project, and it is pretty easy to turn a sport into looking like a Turbo !
