am i being parranoied or is that just how vtr's sound

(reason im asking is because iv ownd a diesel for the past year and forgot how petrol's sound)

Check your sparkplug's are tight.

If it's still there it's possibly the tappet's that need adjusting, or sticky injectors.

Does is stop when you press the clutch?

It'll most likely be the clutch release bearing.. they're held on with 2 flimsy plastic clips..

I've had 2 new clutch kits + bearings.. both broke within 6-10k miles, but they still worked fine. Just noisy in neutral. :y:

ive got the same problem! noise sounds like its coming from/behind the airbox, saying that i'm in need of a new clutch as mines on its way out, probly the same problem as yours!

yehh most likely, if it soffens or goes away when you dip the clutch it may well be the clutch
