I like the comment "normal amount of metal fillings "

the normal amount is zero--
metal fillings and bits indicate a worn gearbox
the grey colour in the oil is usually a sign of a worn cast iron dif housing
the larger bits are obviously from either the dif gears or the other gears
clicking noises will be caused by missing bits of gear teeth probably
time for a strip down and examine --and rebuild as required
