No because you twist it to turn it on and off, it isnt constantly on :) Plus you wouldnt want to wear it all the time, its quite heavy for a tongue bar!

Yeahh when i very first took mine out to change it it closed over slightly so i had to re-pierce it, that killed! Ermm ive had the glow in the dark ones they are pretty cool, with interviews you can get clear flat ones, they do the trick! :) Really well!
