deek06
8th August 2006, 14:08

96p ish i think it is i know its just under a quid here optimax is 1 pound 1p

Clouds_mate
8th August 2006, 14:10
i can get petrol for around 96p a litre no problem.

When i first passed it was about 81p. to be honest i doesnt really bother atm. But when i go to full up i always put full tanks in to save going back again soon. I can def see a increase in the total price which is a bit gay.

liamk15
8th August 2006, 14:15
at asda near mine its still about 97p

saxodan
8th August 2006, 14:16

Ry_B
8th August 2006, 14:18
It's a fecking joke.

I think a strike has to be done now, before it rises anymore. If it rises anymore then there's a strike, if anything is done it will only go down a bit. If we organise a strike now it should hopefully go back down to less than a quid a litre....

Thing that gets me is that America pay 2.80 dollars a gallon which is about 1 quid 60 and moan at that saying how it's a rip etc. Pisses me right off...

Something has to be done!

The road to nowhere.......

Extortionate Car Tax, Petrol @ £4 a gallon, empending Road Tolls (So not only will we be paying tax to drive a car, but we'll also be paying to drive it on the road), and lets not forget the Congestion Charge soon to hit every major city before 2010 (meaning we'll be paying to drive a car, paying to use the roads, AND paying to get anywhere meaningful), means that owning a car will quickly become pointless. This will make communiting to expensive, and the economy will will come down as people wont be able to afford housing near the decent jobs, and all go unemployed.

Add to this that everyone is borrowing more and more money, credit cards are on the up, and the country is billions in debt because of an unjustified war, and we have to put the olympics on in 6 years.

Ow and if anyone in your family dies, the government takes 40% of any inheritance, AND if you get a house from a death, the goverment takes 40% of its value ASWELL.

Next we have trains, which because of the god awful privatisation system means Operating Companies will have to raise fares by 30% over the next few years in order to pay back millions in backing fees from when they started out. Though anyone with a memory of Eurotunnel, means that we aint never gonna see that money again!

Sorry it continues to be bad news.

An immigration system that means if you Hijack a passenger aircraft with arms and force, and land in this country (even after the events of 9/11), you have a right to stay in this country, not have to pay any of the costs of police, counsilling of passengers or damage to the aircraft that may have occurred during the hijacking, ASWELL as be allowed to apply for working permits, get state funded housing and welfare benefits from the government.

ALL ADD UP TO ONE POINTLESS COUNTRY!

we must be the only place in the world where the people who give the least back to the system, get the most from it, and those working to keep the country afloat are being driven to emigration.

You won't read the truth in the papers, you won't see the real stories on the television.

What's he talking about, I hear you thinking.

I'm talking about the coming world war, if you don't believe me, start looking at the Internet, read about the real, inescapable, unacceptable horrors that aren't being addressed by the media.

The war crimes being committed in Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq by the unseen people who control the world for their own agendas and not for the good of humanity.

The people who are controlling or pulling Blair and Bush's strings.

Who Wants A Master Race To Enslave Humanity?
"OUR RACE IS THE MASTER RACE. WE ARE DIVINE GODS ON THIS PLANET. WE ARE AS DIFFERENT FROM THE INFERIOR RACES AS THEY ARE FROM INSECTS. IN FACT, COMPARED TO OUR RACE, OTHER RACES ARE BEASTS AND ANIMALS, CATTLE AT BEST. OTHER RACES ARE CONSIDERED AS HUMAN EXCREMENT. OUR DESTINY IS TO RULE OVER THE INFERIOR RACES. OUR EARTHLY KINGDOM WILL BE RULED BY OUR LEADER WITH A ROD OF IRON. THE MASSES WILL LICK OUR FEET, AND SERVE US AS OUR SLAVES."

Now, who said it?

Was it Hitler?

Was it Stalin?

No!

Menachem Begin
(Israeli Prime Minister, 1977-1983)

People just like this are still pulling the strings, get involved before it's too late, the tide is turning, but not quick enough to save the Planet.

anyone else read "mein kampf"? just reading it atm. gods honest truth, if you forget it was written by hitler and read it as a normal book, you quickly realise hitler talked a hell of a lot of sense. admittedly he did go a tad to far on some of his policies (world war, mass genocide etc). but some of his points are valid even now.
Things such as germans being a minority. The UK is quickly becoming a mixed race island. Dont get me wrong im not racist in any way shape or form, but i do strongly believe that any person entering our country with an intention of staying for an extended period of time should adopt our country as their own. to live in any other developed country like ours you need to have substantial money behind and/or qualifications required by the country and in many places you need to relinquish citizenship of your previous country and become a fully fledged citizen of your new home. we on the other hand, allow any old tom dick and harry into the country without money or qualifications. dont get me wrong my full support goes to asylum seekers, that is the ones that provide towards the country. the sponging wasters on the other hand who clog up our hospitals should go back to wartorn wherever. my point is, france dont stand for it so why should we. why is it that nothing anyone says makes a slight bit of difference to this country. ive neva spoke to or heard of anyone agree with the war in iraq. the goverment should sort this country out before trying to deal with another country. Oh, and the olympics.... dont even get me started. what could we do with all that money eh. new hospitals, better roads, less tax (ha ha ha yeah alright).

My friends that is why petrol is so dear.....

rant over (for now) :)

yeh thats fair aswell. i think if you dont have a job then you should only get benefits for a few weeks. its not fair some people struggle and work and pay tax all their working lifes while some lazy buggers have it easy.

too be fair tho, its the goverments fault. i remember reading a story about a woman who worked at the benefits office, who worked out that with the 4 kids she had and being a single parent, she would have been 10k a year better off and wouldn't have to work. that to me is proper fucked

40% inheritence is a fucking joke, is that true?

partially yeah.

You get taxed at the 40% rate only on the value over the threshold.

So if you inherited £400k you wouldn't get nobbed at 40% for the whole lot. I *think* the threshold is currently at £285k. so you'd only get nobbed on the £115k.

Still totally wank

It is a complete joke that you have to pay tax on something your parents or whoever have passed down to you. SO many things that IMO are wrong with the country it's crazy : (

Many people blame the government for the problems this country faces, but does anyone do anything about it. How many people have the right to vote but don't use it?

If 1% of the country voted for the BNP and the other 99% didn't bother to vote then the BNP would win. Shocking but true!

Understand what your politicians stand for before you vote for them, and if they do something you disagree with then let them know. Send them a letter, or even an email (even Tony Blair recently learned to use email). Politicians are supposed to serve the voters, not the other way around.

It's all too easy to sit and complain - it's much harder to stand up and do something about it. Next time you get the chance to vote, use it wisely.
