DAS6Pro is a good one, so is the Meguiars 200 one. For a kit (includes compounds/polishes/pads) etc, you could get a decent set for the 170 mark.

Stay well clear off the cheap eBay ones then?
Think they were about £40-60 1400w, I wasnt sure you see.
But i don't want to spend loads.

Cheap and does the job : http://www.amazon.co.uk/SILVERLINE-SILVERSTORM%C2%AE-129659-POLISHER-PLATINUM/dp/B005KUGMK2/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1330811503&sr=8-4

Had mine for 6 months - used it alot. Already made it's money back / paid for all products.

Only thing wrong with it - is the pads aren't the best.

Goods : 1-6 speed setting / good weight.

I was going to buy one the other day but my dad mentioned that he'd bought one a few years back and never used so i've got his, he said it only cost him €40 but the only thing that worries me is that every buffer i've seen online is running on about 1400w to 1600w whether as this one is running on only 120w..
Anyone shed some light?

Ahh great, it's just best to buy a descent one then?
What wax etc do you use for buffers?
And these cloths have been in the garage for about 3 years so i best invest in some more, where's the best place to get them from?

The only things that's fit for is the bin mate, I mentioned to my mum a while back I needed a new polisher and bless trying to be nice she came back with this thing. I asked her for the receipt and told her to take it back after explaining the whole process for detailing and having to do a demo of this compared to my spin doctor she understood.

Best advise for you mate is go on cleanyourcar and get the das-6 pro with the Menzerna polishes and pads iirc it's about £170-180 and that will do the trick for learning

Thank you all for the comments,
I appreciate it,
Definitely won't be using it now.
I'll have to look into this das 6 pro.
Again thank you for the heads up, don't particularly want my car being ruined.

Should test it on your neighbours car

It's pointless to even try, it couldn't polish a bird poo off a bonnet (not that you would) and doesn't move fast enough to get any heat in the pad, apply pressure and it stops lol.

bollocks!

we had a spin doctor on a bonnet at KDS, full speed and full weight and it did nothing!

with one of those you'd be lucky to rotate a pot noodle!
