How do you remove the windscreen wipers?

I'm replacing the plastic trim attached to the base of the windscreen ( it warped in the heat and is letting rain water in !) and have undone the nuts holding the wipers, however they won't budge. Am I missing something?

wiggle them off the bolt they'll soon move

as he said , bit of force and wiggle they should break free

just spray a bit of wd40 and give it 2 minutes.
