BANG! when you go over a hole? im lowered about WTF!?mm on the front (i aint got a clue, probs 40mm) just springs n everytime i go over a big bump or a wee hole i get a big THUD! and the ride quality is rather shite.
I'm talking about 60mm by the way ;D
any help will be greatly appreciated n i mite rep your face if u make me smile :D
ta!

even though what you have just put doesnt make any sence
i cant see a full kit making much differnce tbh as im down 60mm on just springs and mine doesnt go BANG! over bumps/holes i do avoid them like mad though :P
i will even go on the other side of the road to avoid going through a pot hole!!

mines lowered with just springs and its horrible when you hit a bump you dont see, and you can hear your dash falling off. one day im gonna see bits off my car in the mirror rolling away

but a full kit contains uprated shocks and the whole works
so a would of thought it would make the ride nicer...

if your down 60mm there isnt shocks made that are short enough even the bilstein shortened shocks are not short enough, the bang is your suspenion bottoming out and transfering all the shock through the car.

is that the main reason why most people suggest you get a full kit over just spings??

so there is no way around the bangs then? except keeping my car at reasonable height?

Uprated dampers; stiffer, longer springs.
OK?!

problem is the lack of suspension travel when your that low so the bang is the bottoming out, if you wanted to go that low then custom uber hard springs would stop the bottoming out but the ride would still be harsh

have you checked the drivers side track rod isn't hitting the PAS pipe? it gets in the way on some saxo's.

i spoke to citoen about this and they said there is about 5 variations of PAS systems. they also dont have any significance to model or year. i am not sure how to tell if you will have that prob without lowering the car to find out.

if you do have that problem though you can get a curved track rod that clears the PAS pipe.

bollocks to paying 30odd quid or whatever it costs for one of those, just bend the pipe out of way. job done.and it's only applicable to mk2's

not all though. some do some dont.
bending the pipe could kink or crack it though.
Sean

nah it wouldnt crack the pipe, only has to be moved a little and there's enough give in the pipe for it to be ok.

I get the bang as well, i have a small solution wen my car was 60mm all round it was really bad but now its 100mm on the rear the weight sits more at the bak, thus less pressure on my front dampers and less nasty bangs, problem is now my spine feels like its gonna shatter,

seriosuly stop fucking bumping 5 year old threads. spamming gives no credibility and it takes a while for the for sale section to become visible anyway ;)
