I really need to use my car, and the nut wont screw up when I use a ratchet on the nut it keeps spinning the thread.. I don't have the Allen key port to do it up I really need to get this done now as I need to go out, If I was to drive down the road and then call out the AA any idea if they would do this?

I don't see how that will help because the thread is inside the boot?

get something to apply pressure down on the joint while tightening it up like a metal bar or a batten

jack underneath the track rod end to hold it tight while you do up the nut.

the thread points downwards so peessure would need to be applied downwards not upwards?

lol sorry thought they went in from the bottom, but thinking of my e46.

just twat the top of it with a hammer to knock the tapper into the hole and it should do the trick!

metal vice to clamp it to the strut works for me everytime.

Or a scissor jack above it.

Electric impact gun ftw.

If stuck, batter it REALLY hard from above with a mash hammer to wedge it in then clamp it.

A ladder wedged in from the top usually holds it whilst you do it up.

New ones don't spin, old ones will do if they're fucked. :)
