So got myself a black 02 vts. i used to own a silver vtr years ago but someone crashed into me and it got written off pic of old vtr below

http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv271/gogs_macaulay/Photo-0288.jpg

back to the vts i have just got

the mods that have been done to it are:

*lowered 50mm
*24mm 106 gti Arb
*206 gti 180 brakes
*Magnex cat back
*quickshift
*6k hi/low hids

the plans i have for it are:

*standard air box to go back on with k and n pannel filter
*smoked jewels
*smoked highlights
*maybe paint the vts wheels white
*repaint the brake calipers blue or lime green?
*decat
*4-2-1 manifold
*get someone to machine polish
*polish rocker cover

maybe the start of next year i will cam it too.

i will upload some pics when i get a chance to take some

Very nice mate

thanks bud

Little update, fitted a decat, car seems alot better. better low down the rev range and feels a bit quicker, but its coming off this weekend, seems too small, anyone else have this problem with decats? it has pulled my magnex exhaust system in a fair bit, i like the note that comes off it but maybe its a bit too loud. unsure as if to try and modify the pipe to make it a tad longer or just leave it and buy a saxsport road 3" also but the airbox back on with direct cold air feed, but again this will be coming off for the induction kit to go back on

Will be the 3inch saxsport I would be getting, the 283mm gti brakes have huge stopping power.

So you were speeding and crashed in hazardous conditions with dim light.

Can only see the blame being one place there.

have u been a gti180 before? its a well better place to sit than a saxo, they seem solid aswell, plus it feels safer which it is, yeah i do miss the vts like was gutted when it happened

My Plans Are to lower it, get a good induction kit for it. any ideas? and paint the wheels gunmetal gray

it already has the cat back scorpion exhaust so i might get a decat for it.

it also seems it has the common problem of clutch judder, now the garage i got it from did give me warranty so i will see what he's saying, if not i will just get the clutch done myself and skim the flywheel at work. has everything to back up the miles on it, just seems strange to me the clutch and flywheel problem is happening already.

i know what u mean mate, but it just feels so much better than saxos, maybe does not feel as quick or as fun but am looking for comfort these days with a little fun with that, and the gti 180 i feel can offer that

Looks very smart mate, K&N Typhoon are popular induction kits for these. Just make sure you don't drive through any deep water with one!
You'll have trouble finding a decat for it. Will probs have to get one made. The Scorpion exhausts are nice and subtle i think, compliment the car well.
If you want to read more about the clutch judder have a look over on 206info.

thanks alot for all the info and probably stupid pm's mate, i was already tempted into buying one but even more so after speaking to you. there nice cars to be in, there also full of air bags, esp ect ect which makes me feel alot safer to be driving, roads up here are real dangerous with fatal road crashes happening daily now. mines also seems glued to the road, even in the wet.

anyways i think i will forget about the decat now, seem too much hassle than it will be worth, but i still think my old vts was loads faster, but is making me think the vts i had was not standard. how low do u think i should go? i dont want it too low, but it looks so stupid because its so high at the front.

got the remap done this morning, my car made 170.3bhp before the map and 173.2 after it, on the drive home the car does have better fuel consumption and does feel smoother about the town, the guy sed it might make more power when i put some miles on it, as he just mapped it and floored it.

map was £200, like everyone keeps telling me, these cars might not give a lot of power from a remap but they are so much nicer and easier to drive about town, plus my mpg has gone from 28mpg upto 32mpg.

Looks nice, I remember seeing this for sale a few months back on ebay.

If it doesn't feel as quick as your old VTS you must have had cams & map.

Tbf bare in mind how much of a tin can a Saxo is! they feel very fast because they are made with left over bean cans. The 180 will be quite abit quicker unless you got a lemon.

I had a fruity breathered S and up to 80/90 it was there then my 180 pulled on it and kept pulling. A stock VTS would be laughed off by alot.

My last 180 I had mapped, and after a few hundred miles the car calibrates. It made a HUGE difference to my old one - Angel Tuning generic map. That made 182.5 bhp and was 174 before and it was lively.

Enjoy it, it's far better than a Saxo.

The leaking will loose you a few bhp I'd imagine get them sorted asap. After around 100-150 miles my car felt like a different animal.

Here's my new progress thread for my latest one.

yeah it got it welded now like, well the guy did say with it being a generic map i should feel a difference after a good few miles, he was also saying something about the airbox/ air feed on them not being the best. so gonna get a Simota CAIS.

That's good. Yeah like I said in the PM mate, unsure if you can still get them on ebay but a quick search of the web and you should be sweet. Dan ^ has managed to buy one recently so should still be available from CPK.

Any CAIS will do, BMC also do one.

I would and did dismiss the K+N Typhoon *Ironic name* would be shit in a Typhoon HA.

would u say they make a lot of deference? the CAIS that is?

also with ur generic map, did u feel it slowly get quicker or was it just one day u went in it, i will get it on the rollers again in a few months, i was happy with my 170bhp before the map. as some people dont even see that.

cant believe it took you so long to come on saxp, everyone sed speak to you haha but Dan got loads pm's from me asking about them.

they are nice cars, its a nice place to sit, seems to have loads grip even in the wet, just i thought they would feel so much quicker than they do, was kinda a let down for me

Well it depends on the engine I guess, it makes a difference to mine and I've had 2 180's, tried different interpretations of the stock intake, i.e I've removed the lower half and bunged a cold air feed directly on the bottom of the airbox removing all pumps ect so using a cone like K+N Typhoon application to the CAIS, for me the CAIS feels best.

Well, it was sort of a little improvement then one day I was like woa. Yeah 170 is good, least I've heard of was 160 lol.

Aye I'm trying to stay away from forums completely soon, had enough of the same old same old. Then again I started using forums in 2004.

For 170 bhp it probably doesn't feel that quick because it's better built. Imagine 170 bhp in a Saxo tin, would feel like it could move the earth. The 180 is definitely quicker than a 130 tops Saxo lol. If your old Saxo was 155+ I wouldn't like to say because of the weight difference but as soon as you get to big speeds it would be left anyway.

i do fancy a typhoon but not keen where the filter sits, i will probably end up ordering the simota CAIS, they also look no bad in the engine bay. the guy at superchips was telling me the standard air box was probably holding back. i just got a new k and n panel filter for it too.

am now thinking there must of been something done to my old vts, because it used to beat every car going just about, 174bhp ek4 civics the list goes on and on.

with the vvt in them too i thought u would be able to feel it kick a little, my old vts used to pull like hell after 5k 5.5k and they dont have vvt. maybe i have just hyped myself up about these cars before owning one. dont get me wrong i like it, i just think they lack power, hence me getting it remapped after two weeks of owning it. lol

know what u mean like, but for me its good having you and dan to question like hell about these, its the only way i will learn anything good, 206info is a crap forum, full of d**kheads

what front splitter do you and dan have? am trying not to copy us two but that seems hard.

Hmm I dno man. Sounds lemonish. I know it's made 170 but, your Saxo would need breathing mods & cams and a map to be as quick as you say. After VVT kicks in mine pulls like a bitch all the way to red it feels very urgent. Possible VVT solenoid issues? Take it out and clean it, should/might notice a difference! It's not an unknown issue.

The K+N is alright, but I wouldn't want to risk a flood lol.

Agree 206info does have it's fair share of dickheads, I've only ever used it as a resource, however try getting information out of people without a fuss.

It's A CupraR splitter mate. Wouldn't even worry about copying anymore mate 206 guys are more in to their styling so you'll find many identical cars on scene. Only way to keep a mod secret is to not announce it.

i know i was thinking the same, its the reason i badly wanted it on the rollers. but 170 bhp it surly cant be. full service history, female owner for the last 7 years, its been getting all its updates done ect ect. where is the vvt solenoid. will try give it a clean

like i sed its probably just me, my friends think its fast upto 120. like u sed before the saxo is always gonna feel fast being low to the ground and made of tin cans, but my old vts was really that quick. it beat a vts that was ment to be cammed, he had breathing mods for sure anyways, 4-2-1 decat ect, mines never, standard manifold with cat and my vts took him by a lot and i mean a lot like, he was on his own with little petrol. i had a full tank and a passenger. and i would say his probably the 180 feels quicker than. looking at all the vids on youtube of the rc's mines looks the same speed wise, so hopefully its not a bloody lemon

I'm not sure mate just seems very underwhelming for 170 bhp, will be as quick as RSClio's ect and look how everyone get's a boner out of them!

Don't ride a bike do you? might feel especially slow because you has RaceBike. lol.

On another note, uploading a video of mine, not hammering it but just to give you an idea what mine goes like. My tyres are terribad and it's wet & not full power but you will notice the pops!

Coming soon... will update ect ha

Yeah , I'm not sure what handling is like in the 206 but the 106/Saxo with proper suspension upgrade is very good !

So you were speeding and crashed in hazardous conditions with dim light.

Can only see the blame being one place there.

Jesus I was a grumpy fucker that day!

Loving the 206 btw, have always been a fan of them.

i think the bmc is getting bad heat soak, the inlet manifolds cooking after a 30miles driving doing 70mph. yeah good i suppose mate. its just crap how it always rapes my wallet through parts, tyres or fuel. hows urs going?

Really? Unusual, got a decent feed to it?
What parts you had trouble with?
Yeah pretty good i've been fairly busy with it. I've done a set of tyres in 6k which im not too impressed with, not even hard driving really!
I'll put a few new pics up on my progress thread!

yeah the feeds to behind the fog light, like where the simota is, i want all the same piping as the simota, they look tidy but would rather run the bmc. i just need to know the deg on the pipes and the size and i will make them up for it. hint hint :P

wishbones knocking, tract rod ends.

saving for a timing belt, clutch and fly wheel to be done next. then it will be getting lowered and mapped at rs tuning.

aww and am away to cut the cat out too

still love them, like the way they drive. nice cockpit ect.. and in my eyes they hold the road really good even in the wet. esp has saved me once too

just hunting for more power now :)
