I hit a roundabout sideways and have bent the drivers side wishbone which is all ordered up and also the rear stub axle.. which apparently i need a whole new axle, is this correct?

This is what my mechanic says after ringing around.. but then on ebay ive found this, will this do the job? Thanks

tbh, it depends on the damage. It may also have ruined some other parts. A refurbed rear beam (from IM Axles) is honestly the best way forward, however you may (as you rightly suggest) be fine with just the pin :)

If you elect to just get the stub pins, you'll need new bearings (and seals) also. You may also need a LARGE press to remove... http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1044924&postcount=23

usually when they are kerbed its the stub pin that the wheel bearing slides onto that bends, about 99% of the time. these don't need any specialist equipment to replace, remove the hub, and beat the stub pin out, its just splined into the rear trailing arm. very rare for an axle to bend just by kerbing, got pins here £20

if its really bad you can cut the stub axle down but i've tended to find its getting the hub off which is the problem rather than drifting out the stub axle.
