Definitely.

The vehicle is under their care and they have full responsibility. Them refusing to pay out is outrageous. I'd squeeze the garage for every last penny.

they say that the throttle got stuck, if the throttle got stuck, ive only once been in a car where this has happened and it kept on doing it and only when it was floored and was becuase of the mat. You just turn the key off and it stops.
Though, delve more, why were they driving it anyway, he dropped it off on sight, so they shouldnt have had to take it up the road.
If the garage wont pay out and continue to act poorly he should tell his local paper! the LOVE stories like this, and will ruin the garage. It will be sweet vengeance

If this happened to me id take it on the chin.

Then 2 years down the line when its all forgotten about id expect the company to have to pay for damage caused by silly vandals that matched the exact sum of repair work for the nova.

Some Garages take the piss,
My mate took his track car to have the tracking done, he saw it go our the gate ad come back 15mins later,
But he's a mug with no bollox said duck all, when I went in next I asked about it turns out the workers aren't insured to even drive the cars off site!
This is why I always stay with my car at mot time etc!

Sounds about right.

Just goes to show some garages are not trustworthy...as if we didn't know that!

An MOT takes less than an hour so I usually drop it off at MOT time and stay near the garage until its done.

Who ever was driving it wasn't wearing a seatbelt. By the looks of the circular crack on the windscreen, the driver must have been a huge bellend and got what he deserved.
In years gone by, my mums Skoda was left in gear, and it drove into a snap-on chest (their fault... they were kind enough to replace bits and respray it complimentary.

I never leave my car for an MOT. I'm reluctant to leave it for anything tbh. There's not anything round most MOT garages so what's the point in leaving?

The place where I use for MOT's took a mercs door off. He thought he popped it into park but had got reverse then jumped out to put emissions tester in the exhaust and it started rolling back takin him with it. I watched it back on the CCTV was funny as fuck. But, he drove 200 mile that night for a new door, bought new glass, had the door sprayed up the next morning and blended it to the car and all fitted back to better than it was. Car was only in for a service/MOT so he ended up about £3/400 out of pocket. He still sorted it though and took it on the chin.

Be serious without the 'Id fucking torch the place' etc etc

I would be going straight the CAB and also getting an appointment with a solicitor, also id like to know if you could have him done for TWOC if the car has left the garage when all it needed was an MOT.

Id seek further advice about the law too, I would just take a coppers word about it.

Terrible thing to happen

Asked him what the fuck he thinks he's doing, the car's just had head gasket failure and been repaired, he had no right to drive it that hard, if my clutch fails i'll be back for free fitting, if the suspension fucks up from going over the rollers that quick then they'll be hearing blah blah blah...just a load of shit to make him feel like the fat cunt he is.

If I ever left the S15 with a garage I didn't know I would have a camera recording in it so I know if it's been taken on the road.

A couple of years ago a guy took his Monaro to a garage and they nailed it around. Funnily enough he had a GPS camera which recorded the speeds. Unlucky for the garage. lol

I knew a guy who took a TVR from one place to another, spun it on first corner, no damage. Proper scared him and he respected his work after that.

Some people dont realise the heartache it can cause the owner.

True but if they did take it for a hoon for a good few miles id known and questioned them.

edit; Is it that bad the garage you take it to you need to actually help do the mot? it would do my head in lol if i was a mechanic and i had the owner hanging around me the 40/60 mins it takes.

A pal of mine bought a VTR super cheap and ran it until it needed an MOT, he thought he'd put it in and decide if he should repair / break it on the outcome.

The outcome was that they'd taken it for a hoon and hadn't put the bonnet pins back in!

it needed a lot of work for the MOT, which they covered!

Muhahaah

What a bunch of wankers. That's definately been driven under the back of a truck or something high with a reasonable rear overhang at speed. I'd be on the phone to vosa and getting quotes to repair it at the garage's expense. Can't believe the owners threatened to nut him as well. Jail time required just for that, let alone smashing the car up. Blatently a "yoof" being a twat in it. Bet the front tyres are flat spotted from skidding as well.

Tbh I know the tester now and we chat bikes etc, and he let's me know stuff to keep an eye on or shows me what it's failed on rather than a vague sheet that could mean anything.
And it makes his job easier so why would it do his head in?

Also I've always found if you stick around and seem interested and chat to them etc the mot is usually less strict,

the question is why was it being driven on the road anyway? when i was a tester the only time we were authorised to take a car out from the testing bay was if it was permanent 4wd, eg sierra 4x4, or too low to go in the brake rollers. in that case it was taken out with a decellerator device in the car to test the brakes.

Few years ago in some twitfit, I needed a tyre on a sunday and popped in there. 16 year old kid was drowning in his drool as soon as he spotted my car. I asked for a quote on a tyre and he said he needed to take the car for a test drive, few inches of snow out there as this was in winter.

I slowly handed him the keys then took them back, asking him how about you look in your computer, I give you my tyre size and you give me a quote. I think the word gutted isn't even close to describe how his face dropped. The glitter in his eyes from reaching for my keys evolving into the despair of the 2nd rate grease monkey being firmly put back in his place. Of course the little cunt had fuck all in stock.

I asked the manager about such procedures so he offered me 20% on a MOT. So I asked him to give me a reason why I should come back again.

A garage lost my custom not too long ago. Daddy running it doing a great job and earned my trust, then junior filling the hours and ruining it. Lazy cunt gave me a car that was running worse than when I brought it in 3 times in a row. Including changing the whole steering rack yet not doing the tracking, ended up with a car I almost had to drive sideways. Had to come back 5 times to get hold of daddy until he said he would do it... The tracking was done, I also found a really neat 40 inch scratch on the roof that looked like it was done with a screwdriver. That was the last drop, and he lost about 10-12 customers that day. Of course he would not give a shit about the scratch, so I had to find other ways to make it square.

When i took my VTS for its MOT 2 months ago at a garage in peterborough, gave them the keys, the little chav had a massive gleam in his eyes when he saw my car.
So i walked off, but stood at the end of the road, waited 5 mins and suprise suprise, my car comes nailing out of the corner, so i flagged him down, dragged him out and took my car back.
Went to the owner and told him what happened, free MOT,2 years free servicing and his word the little chav wouldnt touch my car again lol
