Everything i seem to buy for my car either doesnt work or gives me so much hassle i wish i didnt bother! Got a sub and amp yesterday as ive wanted one for quite awhile and my mate was selling and now i cant stop it from getting a stupid amount of interfearence!! Wasted a whole day 2day and 2morrow il ripp it to bits to see if i can get it working ....
Nothing has gone rite on this car getting a little bit annoyed now.
Wondered if it is just me with a stupid amount of bad luck or if any1 else has as many problems with modifiying their car haha

I get mattwesty to do most of my stuff, hes got 5 years of saxo experience, and owned a westcoast and 3 VTS's so I leave the techy stuff to him. (Cheers matt :P)

as soon as you start taking it away from factory spec you will start to have problems right away no pain no gain

ahh ur lucky, normally my mate rosy lends a hand when he can. Ive had 2 years experience with saxos now but this is the newest 1 ive had, reliable but dam stupid things wrong with it that cost a fair bit to get sorted!!
power went down passenger side,
All others down driver side (2 x RCA, 1 X Remote, 2 x Speaker Cables)
its making a stupid noise like a stupidly loud turbo and making stupid noises like a cd being read. Going to ripp it all out 2morrow and start again will prob be a total waste of a day though

Your right, its best to leave things alone but its all part and parcel of loving your car.

Have you run the Aux,RCA leads and the power cable down the same side of the car? as that will cause interferance?
You should have saved your money for getting your torsion bar done mate.. lol
I know how you feel... when i first started doing stuff to my car it looked a mess... and i had to spend a fortune redoing bits and neatening off stuff... it takes a surprisingly long time!
Good luck with the ICE

when u look at it i suppose i dont know why we do bother, its sooo expensive and it just causes more problems but to me its a hobby :S i cant understand how people buy cars and leave them standard

no like i said they are down opposite sides mate!
taking the lot out 2morrow and running the RCA's down the middle and seeing if that helps. should be easy without the seats in. Il just have to see how it goes.
i have tried 3 different earth points aswell. dont know where is best on a saxo though

to be fair i had this problem on my last 2 SAXOS with the sub and amp and i dont know how i sorted it i just fiddled for days with the wires. It also did it in my 206 and that was put in by an ICE company. They blamed the amp but this time its a new amp and everything !

Underneath the rear seat there is a metal clip that holds the rear bench down... i have mine earthed to that.. don't forget to scratch the surface paint, or sand it down to reveal some of the shiny metal..
I think it is also a bit down to luck on some cars... as some seem to be prone to 'difficulties'...
Hope you manage to get the audio sorted tomorrow :Y:

Daryl for your earth... there are 2 bolts in the boot just behind the back seats on the driver side... take the bolt off, scratch away the paint behind it, and then put your earth behind that bolt... works a treat in mine...
what speakers are you running from the amp? if you're running your front speakers, it's quite hard to avoid interference.. i know you can do some kind of loop with your power wiring.. there's a quide on SSC forums for this under the ice FAQ .. i had the same trouble with my corsa.. got interference through the heaters / accelerator ...
as for modding.. keep at it mate, as long as you enjoy it, why not :)
