Right i need somewhere with the instructions on how to change teh oil pump chain as mine is snapped from the bump i had

Its not in the haynes manual

Could someone please help me find the intructions

didn't know there was a chain for the oil pump?? how do you know its snapped anyway?!

aluminium or cast iron block? Doesnt say much in the haynes apart from if its alu block then its engine out time wiht you having to remove the main bearing ladder and (an easy one!) teh crankshaft. If its iron block then you should be able to do it with engine still in once crankshaft sprocket and crankshaft oil seal housing has been unbolted.

took the sump off and the chain fell out aswell

Just where the rock hit the sump is where the oil pump sproket is and it snapped the chain

Scott how will i know what block it is

its a 99 on a V 1.1 saxo x

magnet on the block is easiest way to tell

hah weird i was gonna say use a magnet n then i thought it was a ridiculous suggestion cus i have no idea about the inner workings of the engine, oh well :\

nope i think its only the 1.4 are that are alu blocked but i defo cant say for sure

right i got the gf to look in teh haynes manual and we found it

Its rated as a 2 spanner job and the engine stays in
