Vts Random idle

Hi, I have a 1997 Saxo VTS it idles at 1000-1100 rpm then randomly jumps to 2000 rpm for about 10 seconds then the revs drop back down again.

Throttle position sensor???

Try cleaning the idle control valve mate.

Do this, sorted out loads of mates cars with a poor idle with a simple clean

Take it all off and clean with wd40 as the ICV usually gets covered in dirt so dont work properly

Is that in the throttle body??

Ive done gearbox's, cambelts and changed heads on hondas but citroens are new to me

Yeah its in the throttle body, basically if you take off air filter pipe so can see throttle butterfly its the hole to the upper right of it with a plug connected to it if that makes sense

get some carb and throttle cleaner and have a play with the idle control valve, worked for me
