So,
I'm thinking of selling my 180 and buying a nice Nana GTi White Rallye or White VTS.
I'm just looking in to it ATM, but has anyone actually tried to look for decent examples...or even an example?
I have and I have to say, where the fuck have they all gone?
Usually there are loads of 106 GTi's & VTS's for sale and some decent ones aswell...
ATM there's fuck all for sale & most of the ones that are, are absolute heaps!
Ideally I wanted a Nana GTi or 16v white Rallye in good nick or a Polar white VTS!
As I said I'm only looking in to it ATM but it looks like at this rate I won't bother!
Where are all the decent ones at? Anyone else been looking for a 16v and noticed lol?
Only found one worth considering!

I've went to see four cars in the last week all were described between "very good" and mint condition
Everyone of them were fucking sheds!!!

Yeah this is the thing, I'll be majorly pissed if people waste my time saying mint and I view a fucking shed!
I'll keep looking for a while see if things pick up if not forget the idea,
Last thing I wanna do is sell my car & have money, n end up with nothing or a heap!

You had a nice VTS already, why take a backwards step?

It's a backwards step in terms of car & speed as stock but they are quite fun & I loved my vts... lol
Just fancy another tbh, was thinking of going turbo perhaps.
I do like the pug alot but I miss having a project, like the 206 is done... nothing to improve or tinker with when I'm bored and fancy pissing around with cars!
I mean sure I could lower it but without spending shit loads... it's done.
It's either that or a Clio RS but I reckon it'll be like the Pug, not many improvments needed and end up boring me.

That the ITB'd one @ 5.5k on ph lol?
I wouldn't spend more than 3g on a 106 or Saxo.
I'll keep looking anyway I guess! I still got to sell the 180 anyway, I'm just shocked that there's hardly any for sale!

Lol I are very srs,
I'm looking for a mint one with low miles aswell & in rare colours so don't help my case haha.
Only interested in bothering with,
Yellow, White, Black Possibly Indigo but all need to be 16v's in mint condition bodywork wise at least. Mechanical stuff isn't as bad for me to get repairs on as bodywork.

Even the 'pretty' ones which are just cleaned to a pointlessly high standard I can bet will have iffy mechanicals. There is really no point in judging a car on cleanliness. Dirt can wash off, but a clattery engine/transmission is going to take way longer than a clean.
Jamie, get yourself having a look the cars. Provided there is no damage and the engine and running gear are working okay you're laughing.

Yeah that does make sense mate, I know cars can have underlying problems, but if I see something looking like a heap I usually ignore it, when I find a car I like the look of then I check them out properly lol
I'll keep looking, good things come to those who wait and all that lol

That's nout mate... One of them even had the cheek to text me back calling ME a time waster and telling me I knew nothing about cars because I knocked the car back for having a fucked back axle...
That was belittled to the fact it was described as very good condition on a 51 plate... And honestly looked like someone had been using it for shooting practice with an air rifle
Was laughing my tits off!!

Auto trader, not many modded cars, but some nice cars, and usually pretty decent ones, since you pay for the adds. Or ebay

Before getting my Saxo, I was looking for a good Gti for around 3 months, going online checking autotrader/ebay/pistonheads pretty much everyday. Only went to view 1 in that time.. and it was a joke!

To be fair, finding any clean examples, of a car, that was pretty much made for youngsters to thrash about.. Chances are slim!

Very few people bother maintaining them now to a decent standard, they just haemorrhage money. I've been tarting mine up lately making it pretty nice and it honestly doesn't seem worth it in the long run. I for example could buy a new low mileage engine for a few hundred quid instead of dealing with a few issues my original engine has churned up.
The rallye models are a different kettle of fish imo, worth getting and treasuring :)

Some right jokers about aren't there? Shame loads of kids can afford them probably wouldn't be such an issue to get hold of a decent one!

My mate had a nice 106 gti, he found when he was selling it that it was worth more broken so he sold all of it for parts. That's why there is no nice examples for sale because when people come to sell them no one wants them. So they just end up being broken for parts.
Jamie

how much for the 180 Jamie?
Sale really depends on whether the market picks up for the VTS/GTI don't want to settle for a heap lol
Probably stick it up for 3.2k as it's still quite low milleage for it's age just hit 45k :).
