I've been sold oil from a shop for my saxo vtr 5w / 30 fully synthic
This is wrong am I right ???
because my mate buyed some last month and his car taps like mad
Plus inlet tapets are set to 0.20mm and exurst is 0.40mm
I've been told to set the exurst to 0.30mm quits the car down alot
Is this true
pleas help thanks

Set the tappits to what they should be, any closer and when it heats up and expands it wont shut the exhaust valve properly and youll burn it out, i put 10-40 in mine but im pretty sure people on here put 5-30 in and its not a problem

10-40 as said, i found 5-30 a bit thin when i used it for my 16v.

Ok cheers I think 5w 30 is far to fin that's why it taps a lot I justed now adjusted tappets to inlet 0.20mm and exurst to 0.40mm not 0.30mm aint try it and as said above i wont try it .but I think when I tited the nut up I mite of move the cental thread a tad . the feeler gauge
When doing it it should be stiff with a little play on feeler shouldn't it
to spec ??

If your forcing the feeler gauge in its too tight, should be friction there, a little bit more than a pinch... Make sense?

The engines stone cold there and the noise is the release bearing, but thats just after i set mine to 0.2 and 0.4...

Yeah mate you knOw when undo the 10mill nut and the little sockit on the centre pin thread to a just.
what I mean is when you insert the feeler gauge in the gap then screw it down to spec .do u remove the feeler gauge then tight it up .

or tight it up with it in Place I.e the feeler gauge .then remove it .

Me personally take it out, i use a spanner for the stud and another for the nut... More accurate that way

Using a sockit on stud that's why I'm not getting it right plus I'm only using the 1st bit of feeler gauge to < the vary first bit when really you want to push in more ain't it lol Sorry to be asking and asking lol

Hi mate just quick question on this when I do the tappets it doesn't matter in what order there adjusted as long as the injectors are 0.20 and ex 0.40
Am I correct mate
Of course ive got the car jack up in 5th gear till I see tap 1 up or ex up

Never bothered testing it, and when you do it draw yourself a table like this...

There french no 1 is gearbox end...

Just write down before and after adjusted... :-)

Measure up before, adjust, measure and move on, then go back over and measure again to double check

No order meeded just do them all :-)
