hi i have just been doing the clucth on my vtr and for some reason it wont start now..

and i have noticed that when i turn the ingintion on i cant here the fuel pump start up (the ential wind nosie they make).. so i am amsuming that the fuel pump has stopped working but i dont see any reason why it would.. battery was dissconnect before work started and i never touched any wires other that the two earths on gear box..

i dont know why it should stop working.. and my multi meter has gone pop.. so i cant double check it for power.. (i am making a wire with a bulb tonight to try and test it for power tomorrow)

does anyone know any reason why it should of stopped working.. if i have or might ahve done something without realising..

I have tested fuel pump and one wire is getting constant live when ignition is on and other gets power when I turn over engine...

So I take it that the fuel pump is gone and I'm now on way to scrapy to get a replacement.

Hoping this works..

Double check your connections on the gearbox,& check that the crank sensor is plugged in properly mate.

You said apart from the 2 earths on the box

That will be it. Clean them up / make sure they're tight - same happened to me :y:

Got it started.. Dont know what the hell was wrong... I put new pump on and still same thing except when i put mu hand on the pump i could feel it working.. (feel the vibrations) but still wouldnt start...

So i decided to put the orginal pump back in and see if i could feel that working..

But magically when i turned it over it started straight away

Turned it off and on a few times and it works fine... :banghead:
