I am looking at buying some 205 alloys without tyres. what size tyre should i go for after i have had them painted? i don't know where to start

What's the rim diameter? 15"? Guessing your on about the 1.9 gti alloys

However I run 50 profiles as you cant get 888s in that 45 profile
