Had clutch/shafts/wishbones changed and replaced gearbox with a 2nd hand box which i bought off a guy on here.

Yesterday when i picked it up all was OK, driven slowly since, driving today and twice going into 4th gear at 30mph it catches on something, I lift the pedal slightly and it pops in. Or go to neutral, lift clutch, then try again and its fine.

Had trouble engaging 1st as well after i come out of reverse???

Box only has 55k on it. No wines or crunches, drives fine apart from that.

Any ideas

Thanks

First think to check is make sure your gear linkages are on nice and tight.

get under the car and ask someone to select each gear. look to see if the seletor rod/linkages etc catch on anything :y:

Would/could it be as simple as that then.

Hoping its not the box

Is it easy to adjust the selector rods/linkages

Have you lost gear oil?

I checked the pedal travel and it was 10mm short of the book spec, it now sits flush with brake and accelerator and is easier to change gear, but did catch slightly going into 1st

Much better though

Could possibly be the gearing synchro in the box?

Had Citroen (my mate) look at it today, the box is suspect, Slip and dog rings could be knackered.
