Been smelling fuel over the past few days just thought my car was running rich, anyway was just about to set off today and there is fuel dripping in from underneath the glove box, and i was puzzled because I thought the fuel lines went under the car, so for now its just parked on the drive since all the electrics are under the dash don't want any fires, has anyone had this before and what could of caused a fuel leak ?
Edit: car is 1.1i mk1 96

fuel lines run under carpet - inside the car. They go through to the engine bay behind the glovebox, in the very top left hand corner.
The lines are continious from where they enter the passenger compartment (behind the passenger seat in the rear bulk head) into the engine bay, so the only way you could have fuel dripping in at that point would be a split/cracked/worn pipe.
The pipes are plastic and can get brittle with age, but I've not heard of this before. Certainly worth investigating as soon as possible. Worst case, replacement line is going to be peanuts second hand from someone here or a scrap yard.
First priority is to see if you can find the split in the line - likely to be where it goes through into the engine bay imo.
