Hi there, I'm new here, so let me briefly introduce myself.
My name's Kristof, I'm from Belgium and we've got a 2000 Saxo 1.1i.
I have recently installed a Pioneer Avic XII but It doesn't work properly because I can't find the speed pulse anywhere. Does anyone know where to find it? And if my car doens't have any, how would I manage to get everything working in the end?
Thanks
Ross

Easiest option will be to use a speed pickup I suspect.

I had a similar issue converting dash.

you'll find a speedo pulse in the dash, comes from the speed sensor on the diff.

I've not used the avic but for my dash this was unusable. Same with using an abs sensor. :(

Hi, do you also know which one I need (color, etc)? It's pretty confusing, some people say it doesn't have one, some say it does but that it won't work, and others say that it will... :panic:

Quick update:
I called the Citroen technician and he told me to take the speed pulse from pin 7 off the black plug underneath the steering wheel (grey wire). So I took this one but the Pioneer didn't get any signal at all. Resent an e-mail to this guy and now he tells me that there's a white sensor with a white plug on the gear box => pin 3, pink wire should be the direct VSS.
You guys reckon this could make any difference to try and get the signal from there? I'm going to end up with a car of which all wires have been cut and reconnected lol, like a good Swiss cheese.

I was going to put a link up to my thread, Scott beat me to it!
As per my post, you should find Speed Pulse in same locatation I did, which is what the Citroen confirmed.
Im using an AVIC-X3, but you can run it without SP, I only did mine because I wanted it connected, as I do it for a living.

Hi Nick,
Thanks for your reply, I'll look for it as soon as I find some time. Do you have a pic of the sensor itself?
I must say, mine doesn't work, the arrow is moving sidewards and if you try to navigate, the thing indicates a route which is impossible.
A friend of mine had the same thing with his (9xxBT??) double din on his nissan 200, he connected the VSS and then everything worked as a charm... I sure hope this will solve my problem because an avic is expensive and I've been messing around for almost a year now and still my nav function isn't working. It is driving me quite crazy. :)
