£100 per caliper? He's having your eyes out mate, buy the calipers yourself off ebay....
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=saxo+1.1+caliper&_sacat=0
£50 max for new calipers but I wouldnt even buy them.

So whats up with the calipers? Only once seen a caliper falure... It had fallen off and was rubbing the wheel... Anyway post a pic up of sed calipers and why they wont pass an mot... Most probably disks and pads but he wants the extra work...

Possibly a seized slider
Nothing half an hours work and some rubber grease won't sort

Yep Any hikes that shouldnt be there are a fail and will need welding!!!
Bendix and ate are different makes of caliper
Bet the sliders are worn, so the caliper isn't moving correctly so is wearing the pads more on one side than the other, thats the only way I can think of it being out of line

yeah i think that sounds about right to be fair mate. what sort of repair should he be doing to the calipers and would they need to be replaced?? i always ahve problems with the brakes/drums/calipers and i try to use them as little as possible and try and clutch it instead but i still get screwed over.

Sounds like the bloke is trying to rape your wallet mate. Truth be told even if you have the smallest of mechanical knowledge you can tackle anything on these cars (within reason). first thing i did on mine was change the brake pads and disc's on the front and then a headgasket by myself was all pretty easy. Think i got some drilled discs and new pads all round for around 60-80 quid posted then a couple hours changing it all over. Although if you have none then don't bother haha but if you give it ago you'll save big £££

As said its worth giving ago yourself to save some money these cars are easy enough to work on even for a novice, and if you do need new calipers its worth up rating them to a larger size. I have just got a set of vts calipers disks and pads off here for £25 posted so its worth looking in the for sale threads for some of these.

Stop trying to sell him brake setups that wont fit!!
Op, the old ATE calipers are naff and prone to doing this, can be had refurbed for around £30 a side with rebate, but can find them at breakers for cheaper. While youre at it change the retaining pins as they rust and sieze up.

Nope. 3 stud, smaller hubs, caliper mounting is different. You can fit them to 3 studs if you get AX diesel legs and redrill the discs.
Besides, discs and pads for 3 studs are stupidly cheap, like £25!

You can get replacement calipers for £10 each. Brake disc is £7 brand new, tyre price is about right, welding job I bet would cost more like £40. Labour for the calipers is around £40 as its so god damn simple. Drive shaft seal/boot is £10 along with labour of about £20.
hes doing a good job of ripping you off mate. Laughing!

You aint scared lol, get raped or die trying hey? 65 a corner for calipers (45), 75 for welding (50), drive shaft gaitor (40), 55 mot (dependand upon area 45-50) 36 Tyre (20 part worn, 3-40 new) 25 disk (disks and pads 40)
Thats a rough labour as well... If you did it yourself, would be less...
