its allowed when its not term time i think. there should be a sign there to let you know anyway.
always worth an appeal anyway.

Strand road outside Trinity Sports Centre mate.
Yellow school entrance zig zags! sign say "no parking Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm" as this is obviously school times. weekends you can park on them with no bother and school holidays USUALLY are fine aswell!! as i said i have been parking on them since start of holidays and never had any bother! hundreds of traffic wardens will have passed it in the last 2 week! but now one knob heed has given a load of people tickets!
i have been trying to track down the highway code as i havent got one! anybody know of one online as i cant find any lol

from
"guide to traffic law, for the enforcement officer"
Parking Enforcement
A local authority can make an order under the road traffic regulation act 1984 which allows them to impose parking restrictions and prohibitions and place signs in accordance with the traffic signs regulations and general directions 2002...
(for example no parking 8-4 mon - fri)
Increasingly local autorities are trying to take over responsibility for enforcing parking contrventions from the police and to retain the funds received from penalties to fund their enforcement activities
(i guess this means traffic wardens)
These poweres mainly include enforcement of parking regulations on yellow lines, They do not include endorsable offences and offenses related to obstruction which the police continue to be responsible for. These offences should be dealt with by a fixed penalty notice.

did you no that you can park on double yellow lines if they are broken in anyway. if the paint has totaly gone. a bloke got a ticket for parking on them so he took the council to court and won as it says that it has to be a continues double yellow line until it has a line across both lines. was on the news few year back.
