Well Honda kinda has its own scene and people say Honda has its own way of life :homme: then drifting is kinda classed all as one no matter what the manufacture.

Still don't get the comparison. It's hardly like what do you prefer Pepsi or Coke, or VW or Audi.
You've basically asked do you like driving or driving in my eyes lol.

No haha. I'm saying I like driving whether it's in a honda on a public road or in rx7 drift weapon on a track.
So to me it's all the same. If that makes any sense.

200SX would be something that could look alright and I could learn in! OR a Beemer 320 touring...

Its the "scene" as opposed to cars. Honda scene seems to be a load of fan boys with super expensive parts. Drift is about learning about cars & having fun with mates from what I've seen. I much prefer the latter.

You gotta be good at both to get anywhere IMO.
I think they are 2 different scenes/community's/likes whatever you wanna call it, you cant really compare like F1 and Daytona, both do the same thing but in different ways.
I like both, almost equally. Drift is more laughing enjoyment for me, racing seems more serious.

Yeh, so which do you prefer :wall: just take the word 'scene' out of it if it offends you so much, scene was used as a term to categorise drifting, much the same way as you have used the word drifting to categorise that group together. No one said anything about fitting into a scene, you dont have to fit into a scene. A scene doesnt mean you have to be something certain, a scene doesnt have to be something you are in.
What do you prefer, the sewing scene, the reading scene, or the gynastics scene?

To be able to make a decision on which you prefer you have to understand the question. To be able to say one prefers drifting clearly shows you are not a fan of Honda along with its following, characteristics and activities of its owners etc.

Real men chicken out of rwd's for fwd's do they? ;)
Real men get bored of having an automatic then decide to sell up and get something thats more rare, and a proper drivers car ;) that holds its value much better.
FYI the BMW was sold because its un-enthused drive which was ruined by its automatic gearbox didn't justify its shit MPG of around 19mpg when driven very steady. I do miss its comforts though and the engine did sound quite nice, that along with it being rather slow too, even if it was the manual version of the 330 it still wasn't that quick. In some respects I miss it and would have another but this time a manual but then Id rather keep the Integra.
Mochachino
26th August 2012, 00:09
Who did that
haha I didnt sell up as soon as I shit myself in the wet! It was automatic and it was rather boring having to drive 30mph on a road in the wet with the traction control light still flickering when every other car and lorrys were driving at 55mph lol
To be fair, if it wasnt an automatic then I would have put up with it for longer.

I wouldn't say they're bland, they're a nice car and can be driven well with a driver more used to RWD.
I bought an auto as at the time the saxo wasn't road legal and I was driving a 307 HDI everyday, so thought I could hack another car which wasn't such a thrill. But then having sold both and got the BMW I found out I was wrong and needed something that delivered more of a thrill! Can actually relax and drive this car normally a to b without having to be thinking about it spinning out all the time even with the slightest bit of throttle.
greyjasper51
26th August 2012, 00:14
More and more autos drive like manuals now... New stuff anyway but nothing can beat a real stickshift where i tell it what i want it todo and when :-) if i fuck it up its my fault and mine only, not the idiotic crashable computer telling me how to drive...
Maybe see im not a fan of traction controll...

But dude u did shut yourself and sell, I remember the thread, you tried to overtake in the wet, got some wheel spin then had no confidence in it and sold it, I'd dig it up if I could be arsed and wasn't on my phone
I did shit myself, but not when I overtook the lorry. That was a factor to show it was just a liability to drive normally in the wet. I shit myself when I was on the bridge in Nottingham city center in the wet, tiny bit of throttle and it spun up and started to go sideways and being used to FWD my immediate reaction was to give it more throttle, I ended up crossing 4 lanes and facing oncoming traffic which were at a distance thankfully with the traffic lights on red! I could have hit other cars and sent them into the river or myself otherwise. That wasn't driving like a dick either, that was just driving it steady to pick a mate up which I guess made it worse, had I been dicking about I would have forgiven it more, but as it was just normal driving it fucked me off.
That along with getting 19mph driving it steady just wasn't worth it and a waste of money. The thing that sealed the deal was when I went out with a mate and met her mates with an Integra and an EK9, that made me sell up and within a week or two I found a decent DC2. I lost £1k in a matter of a couple weeks. The DC2 was a much better investment, and gives me what I want from a car, never looked back. Not fully anyway haha, not sure why im explaining myself here :S

Depending on what car, Autos can be just as quick, its not the 80's. Its the people who think Autos are a fail who are failing thinking its a lesser car and not cool and most probably never owned or driven one. Unless your on a track and know how to drive like a race driver does, its not that relevant. IMO.

Mochachino I've never had my car wheelspin like you described from a tiny bit of throttle, that's with no traction control and a welded diff, mabie that's the difference between na and boosted power delivery, did it kick down a gear or something? But yeah dont let that put you off, when you get bored of the teg get something with a manual box and do some drift days, you'll soon learn its limits :y:
