Hi,did anyone try these coilovers?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GAZ-COILOVERS-FITS-CITROEN-SAXO-CONVERSION-KIT-1996-ON-/130477498731?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e6110a16b&_uhb=1#ht_1690wt_906
I'm not looking for any comfort but for a coilover that offers a very good roadholding overall.
Thanks in advance.

They're good for a budget setup,
I preferred them to ast's etc
It's all about picking the right spring rates tbh

Good IMO better the other budget stuff,
Dont buy them can get them £100 cheaper elsewear mate

Gaz is the best value for money, ast is twice as expensive but not twice as good, ast internals are same as leda....
Gaz ftw imo :-)

Very good! the handling is brilliant compared to my old over on standard dampers and 60mm springs and I thought that was good!
A nice sweeping corner by mine I used to be able to take around 35-40 and It started to slide abit, where was now with my 106 on Gaz coilovers it'll go round that corner easily 50mph +

What about rolling in corners? better than the original's Saxò dumper/springs?

You get 3 a day i think... And depends on spring rates... 200lbs-225lbs should stop the roll ;-)
Will be expensive to put your fillings back in tho :-) especially on uk roads!!

What about the leaking dampers under hard cornering?

So it doesn't come with springs? I've heard this said a few times and a few sitws say "We can supply springs"

I tell you now on track that spring rating your still get body roll. Have to be a bit heavier spring rating in my experience on the track with my Saxo. Trying different spring lb on the track.

Should come with spring normally can pick which lbs spring you want, also remember rear torsion bars and balance front to rear. If you want a good handling car ;)

Id go ast.
Gaz go rusty, mine are still shiny 2 years on, work just fine, very comfy.

They come with springs but not usually ideal to what you need.
Some companies that supply them can change what springs you get with them etc

That's no good at all, after how many months/years did they get rusty?

Nobody had that problem?

not very long at all from what I've seen, they're just budget dampers.
for a good coilover you need to need near a grand at least, if you can't afford that just get bilstein inserts.
I'm very happy with my AST dampers, still black and orange shinyness.

Nobody had that problem?
yes ME!
i got pissed off with them flexing and spraying the fluid out the seals. i refurbed and sold on.
went straight to bilstein grp n. not a problem now. i dont rate the gaz finish either. 6 months use and the rear dampers look scabby and shite.
the adjustment in the dampers made for good tweaking but i was always unsure if i was doing better or worse. again a reason i use bilstein grp n.
id say ok for fast road- odd trackday. not a fully abused track car.
my opinion.

People say they go all grubby all you have to do is wipe them and they are fine....

I tend to disagree from my use of them - the gaz gold kit is great the dampers have not leaked at all and they are a great set up like I said this is the gold kit not the eBay specials
I have heard gaz have had bad service etc etc but from my personal experience with them I really think they are great they have dne circa 10 track days of hard use and are great condition still

my gaz coilovers are a couple of years old and only have some slight surface rust on the damper outer casings (not the piston)
not really anything ill loose sleep over or put me off buying them tbh lol

People forget even the golds are classed as a budget cool over setup,
Oh and btw quite a few of the Leda engineers etc work for gaz,
I loved my gaz coilovers and could never fault their service.
