drilled or grooved?

wanting some new disks and pads, but im not sure which to get, or both?

grooved as you can get cracking with drilled, but not loads of grooves as there will not be enough pad contact. you running bigger calipers?

I would get the pads at the same time buddy. I have the greenstuff pads and think they are very good. I would probably go for both drilled and grooved discs. If you are getting bigger callipers you will notice more of a noticeable difference.

as i wont be doing it myself and got told if i get bigger discs then ill need diff calipers

you can run various setups. 306 gti, 180 gti setups.(calipers and discs) all that run on plane discs.to be honest that doesnt matter. second hand your looking at 150-200 depending on which.
also you can still run 283mm discs on standard calipers (disc conversion), you just need caliper spacers which are 40 quid new and again plain discs 75 new. grooved 125 optional.
you wanna be changing the size of the discs to get any noticable difference, theres no point changing the standard size discs for grooved or whatever for the minimal difference its gonna make really, especially for the money.

Go for some gti-6 discs calipers. Will notice the difference alot more than with drilled and grooved ones.

do not if you want good brakes fit EBC green stuff! its total shite! does not bite well atall! i personally think theyre dangerous.

also dont get drilled disks, it will just crack the disk in most cases. get some light grooved ones!!

i have had many sets of brakes so know :P

nope they wont fit, i have 206 gti 180 discs and calipers and they only just fit behind 15s at a push.

they are 285mm i think, they are shit hot. you carnt get them to fade when braking hard, they just try to rip the stuts off the car! lol

excellent setup, just ask hessle vtr. they helped me from ploughing into his car when he spun at FCS track day. if i had my standard setup on i would have smashed into him.

cracking wont hapen with drilled discs, you would need to get them so hot they glow red before they cracked, look at what ferraris come with, drilled.

personally i wouldnt go for either, they make you pads wear quicker and arent really worth it on a small light car such as a saxo.

imo just get plain discs and a good set of pads.

the 266mm ones will as said from the 150 horse power gti whatever it is, but the gti 180's (283mm) wont. theres 2 gti versions,
