Just me watching then?
Nothing but respect for the athletes, but the opening ceremony is pretty poor so far :n:
Looking forward to the games actually starting :y:

Just watching it on +1
Think it's awful that this gets so much less recognition.
Yeh, the Olympic athletes are amazing but these guys are something else.

I'm not watching the opening ceremony simply because I watched the other one bored me after about 3 minutes and I'm quite happy browsing the pages of t'internet of an evening. Will definitely be watching some of it though - I've got alot of respect for the athletes that are just cracking on with things instead of giving up - I can't begin to imagine if I was to lose a major limb.
Some of the convicts and scroungers of this world could learn alot from people such as those taking part IMO...

think its a disgrace how its handled personally, bbc create 24 new channels for the Olympics and the same again in HD then create a whole new interactive service to go with it, not to mention the overhaul of the iplayer and all the bandwidth dedicated to it.
then the inability to open a paper or the news without EVERYTHING being about the Olympics.
and then they just Fuck it off over to channel 4 when the paras are doing theres!
my god sorry for that rant Haha!

It had poor media coverage in the real world and in the Saxp forum compared to the Olympics.
But now like the Olympics, the Paralympics comes to a close :n:
C4 did a "Ok" job of broadcasting the games, the best part being The Last Leg :D
It will be strange having no Olympic events on TV, the Olympic Stadium falling quiet after housing 80,000 spectators for 1 month.
After the Olympics finished, I forgot how shit TV was. I think the same will happen after tonight.
Goodbye London Olympics and Paralympics :(

Found it hard to get 'excited' about this compared to the Olympics.
Sounds like an air raid going on ATM with the fireworks going off from here.

The last 6 weeks have been off the hook. Loved the olympics and the paras.
Probably more so with the paras, take the swimming, there were dudes with like a missing arm and half a head or something and they were doing 100 m in the time I do 50 m + I'm ablebodied.
Loved wheelchair rugby and volleyball.
Just bummed out that both world sporting events are over and now stuck with the traditional shitty tv sports like football and those moany footballer people.

Its been brilliant :D
All the other countries doubted London as a host. Who could blame them, one day after winning the bid to host the Olympics we had the London tube / bus bombing. We hit a massive recession, rumours of being over budget and behind schedule & then the London riots.
Why the fuck would anyone want to come here?
But I think it's been huge success :y:
Maybe not for tourism or the economy but the games themselves have been executed without a hitch, drawing in record number of ticket and viewers.
For me, the games made me proud to be British. Weird Opening ceremony and all :fcuk:
And now its over :(
