At work at the minute, we're making a display engine and we're planning on making some parts of the engine chrome if not all of the engine. There's a V6 sat in the front window of Powertrain at JLR and it's completely chrome and looks really good.

Does anyone know of any local-ish chrome platers? (I'm from Coventry area, WM) Anything along the lines of that? Or a way I could do it myself?

Never chromed anything before so any help is appreciated.

Thank youuu :D

Won't be able to do it yourself as it involves several layers of metals building up to the chrome.

I meant as in any other ways like spray paints, acrylics... (decent ones though)

Not clear, I apologise :)

You can get chrome paint, it's not as bad as it sounds but you'll never get it perfect.

My mate and I did a chrome geetar. :)

which is why I disagree :p

You can do plating at home no problem - just need the do some research, buy the gear, practice etc. No voodoo involved :)

No chrome for me tho, 24k gold all the way ;)
