Hi guys, been training now for a couple of years and had got the diet down a few months back and was seeing good improvements, was 11 1/2 stone aiming to get to about 12 1/2. However, my wife left me a few weeks back and my diet turned to shit, barely been eating and I lost 1 1/2 stone in 4 weeks  Trying to sort myself out again and get back into training but I'm struggling with my diet mainly due to lack of money. Shops seem to be raping you with the price of chicken these days, can anyone suggest a good alternative? SO far I've found mince to be reasonably priced and Lidl's tuna but need other alternatives if anyone has any suggestions?

Although fresh fish is always the better option, I do eat a lot of tinned mackerel!!
Very tasty, high in protein and helthy fats and very cheap!!
Maybe even cottage cheese to, could chuck on a jacket tata!
Sorry to hear about the breakup dude

If chicken is too costly try turkey.

Depends where you buy, shop around.
Beef Mince is dirt cheap
Turkey Mince is cheap aswell
Most supermarkets do big trays of cheap eggs
Asda brand tinned tuna is like 70p a can
Kidney beans, rice. They still have good protein values.
Different cuts of chicken, thighs/legs are cheaper than breasts. Higher in fat but will still be ok.
Oats in bulk
Unflavoured whey in bulk.
Sardines, dirt cheap and rich in essential fatty acids

Thanks guys, will need to go shopping! What's the best time for the sale section in the supermarket getting stocked? I always seem to miss it.
