errrrrr whats this about

read the top post and it makes perfect sense.

the board can sometimes be smaller or bigger depending on level of experience i think. Either bigger or smaller is better for speed, and different shapes for tricks or speed etc.

depends on your foot size mate, im 6ft1 size 11 boot and i find a 162 perfect! not to difficult to swap edges and being a bigger board means you pick up speed quicker

Connor, im 6ft 2 and have a 163, i got away with out having a wider board even though size eleven feet as then its more friction against snow.

Its no good getting a board too small for you as carving becomes shitter, from my expieriance i suggest you get a 159-161. and have your bindings of 15degrees and minus 15 as is a good all round set up!

What board you looking at?

For skiing the skis you learn on tend to be smaller to make it easier, unsure if this is the same for snowboarding.

Some of my friends bought skis and boards to learn on and ended up with incorrect boards for there level of experience and making it harder for themselves

Id go for a 159-161 then connor, as your learning wont make mcuh difference, and also say you are learning and they will show you entry boards and intermediate, no good having a standard novice board as then will be no good 3 months in.!
