it's hardly a bargain..

In my eyes it is

Look at all the other cars for that price, all are above 50000 miles, and cost more.

It's an old saxo, I wouldn't say its a bargain tbh

It has been clocked, simple as.

You would be nieve to think it hasn't.

Just check the old MOTs... theyll tell you if its legit

check out the nice shiny throttle pedal. certainly looks like its only done 17k, not

Not necessarily.

I can get a MOT certificate printed saying whatever mileage I choose it to say, piece of piss.

If somebody wants to hide the true age/mileage of the car, they will. A 15 year old supermini hatch that isn't a shed-stored classic will not be on 17k, that I'll promise.

You can use the document reference number from the V5C registration certificate which he should be willing to give you, if not its best to stay away! and you can check it on this page http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/Mot/DG_10020539

The database will tell you if it has been clocked or not becuase it shows up with every MOT and the current mileage at the time of the MOT. So if it has been clocked you would be able to see quite easily if it has or not and if its been a write off at any point etc.

Trust me, I've seen guys clock cars quicker than you can take a piss in the morning, it happens so often but people just don't know.

Even being aware of it one of my old cars was indeed clocked, I only found out because it was a forum car. Otherwise the paperwork, MOTs etc all seemd legit. It is a shocking business.

Some mechanics can take your VIN (infact they just ask for a copy of your old ticket), they slap only a few exra miles from your last MOT and change your clocks back to correlate. So the database which they then corrupt also means fuck all.

Anyway just cos (if) its got 17k miles on doesnt mean its in extremely good nick.... all the bearings/bushes etc are still old as fuck. It might not have been serviced properly etc

Fucking lol. There's an easy trick to spot the fakes. Look at the throttle pedal, seems more like 170.000 to me ;)

I find it very hard to belive that its done 17000 miles.. Check seat wear. Steering wheel wear etc, but then again its all easily changed reguardless..

Funny guys.....

If someone is posting a link with an item they are blatantly selling it gets deleted. If its for reference, as this is, its at our discretion whether it stays ;)

Even if it was legit at the end of the day its a 1997 vtr (not even a vts) in one of the most common colours.

He will struggle to get £1300 for it to be honest, assuming it wasn't rusted to shit he might get a grand.

Just can't give them anyway anymore

Iv just let a 52 plate 106 go for £290!

That signed the end of them for me now (buying and selling them anyway)

Great time to buy a project tho witch is what I want

Looks a bit suspect, says "17,800 genuine miles" but doesn't say that they have proof!
