iirc it was £2500 for our fee's and that was just buying, no selling, with no stamp duty and using a scheme the housing developers were running.
think a few of them round here had online quotes that you just filled in and it told you roughly how much itd be, might be worth a google :)

I doubt this will help in any great way, but it's there if you want it.

Don't forget first time buyers get reduced rates and don't pay any selling fees. If your selling then buying another it'll probably be much more than someone just buying their first property.

First time buyer, no stamp duty. £850 we paid in total for fees. but of that £350 of it goes on the various property surveys etc and the solicitors got £500 for themselves.

we moved from £210k house to £270k house 4 months ago.

£8.5k stamp duty
£2.5 estate agent commission
£300 home buyers survey
£250 searches
£2k ish for solicitors.
Actual move costs, storage etc, approx £1k.

Call it £15k all in.

Legal fees are normally 2-3k.

Stamp duty is the biggest pain in the arse, I am locked in unless I want to fork out for it again.

Depends on your solicitor. I've just had a quote for £300 from ours that we have used before.

You shouldn't have any other fees as a buyer, other than stamp duty, however when it comes to selling it's a different matter.

Agency fees vary from a small percentage of the sale value, to a fixed fee of any value

Me and the gf have just put a offer in and seen financial advisor last night, got a silicitor sorted whos gf mum and use alot. Financial advisor reckons 2k max for basic survey for mortgage, search's, silicitor fee's. No stamp duty as being under the threashold, first time buyers so no estate agent fee's and reckons it could be 6-8weeks till get the keys.

Try put down biggest depoit you can as will get a lower percentage rate i.e. a 20% deposit will be fair bit better repayment wise than a 10% deposit.
