Thinking about joining 4 para outside of work. And i was just wondering is there any Para's on here? I was just wondering is the training fitted around work time, weekends etc?

If it's territorials your thinking of joining I think it's one day of training a week.
I know a guy in RLC whos in T.A and he works on Saturdays.
If it's regulars you want to join no it's not fitted around work you have to go to what they tell you to you'll have to do the application followed by a medical then an interview, pre-selection, another interview with a staff sergeant and finally you'll need to pass at the development centre. Then you'll get a start date for phase 1 training which will be 14 weeks at the relevant camp.

I've just been looking at joining the force. Just due to the simple fact there is hardly any companies out there willing to give you a chance to earn and learn.
How hard is it to get down to the selection tests?

If you're joining the TA then it would be more practical to join a regiment closer to home IMO.
Last time I checked 4Para are based in Pudsey (Yorkshire) and Scotland.

4 para are also down in Surrey too. Down the road from me. I currently do my hills sprints/runs on the army ground anyway.

One in St Helens in Merseyside too :)
You've got:
B Company (Greater London)
C Company (North of England)
A Company (Scotland)

It's not that hard tbh just do lots of research which will all be explained to you what you need to know etc by a recruiting sergeant.
The hardest part before selection would be pre-selection which is basically the same as adsc but more relaxed and all into the one day.
I'm off to adsc Lichfield this Thursday I can't wait! :y:

The pay is shit to do it full time. So just because people are in the TA's it makes nearly all of them shit? Bit narrow minded

I don't personally mind a few TA bods, some are willing some aren't bit like any job really.
Remember though mate, they all do a job and unless they get you in danger then try not to worry.
