Picking up a new car on Saturday :y: probs not to everyones taste but with doing a fair few miles a day for the new job I wanted something new with abit of poke but fairly economical without it being a tractor. So here it is :)

loves cars these, and with the right exhaust they do sound very nice with the occasional pop and bang but i seem to be put off by these as the local TW*Ts in my area have these and think they are race cars on a circuit when they are in a housing estate!!!

cant wait to see what the plans are and the outcome as the furio was a lovely looking car :y:

p.s looks very clean mate :y:

good choice
not a car to show off how fast it is, but for the looks of it, i think they look great.

my mate had an exhaust like that. was a powerflow and was ridiculously loud lol i loved the sound of it tbh

erm I've bought a car thats comfortable and has decent mpg for my many motorway miles! Aslong as its good to drive and quicker than the paxo i'm happy :)

Knew it would get a nice mixed reaction! I do love these in red, look awesome, just need to keep it protected!
Same as me Miller, nearly, gonna share the miles with the missus Mini.

I actually like the tints on it for some reason, look better in the flesh than the pics.

they arent by any means slow. i think its just for what they are, quite slow. A 2litre 16v which is slower than a 1.6 16v saxo/gti :S

Yup, not really much power from a 2 litre engine really but better than what I had, breathing mods should free it up nicely :)

They couldnt have made it too close to the ST focus though. Besides the duratec has a lot of tuning potential

Have you had this yet mate, looking for some advise/insight what they like to live with, boot space, comfy, quickish ? Just stuff like that. My mates got one at work but if you listen to him evary car he's had is the best car in the world lol. I'm torn between one of these or a 106 gti. What do you think of it compared to your sax ?

Thanks.

Nice very nice Baz,

They won't set the world on fire stock but a few choice mods and they go well major upgrade over a Saxo :).

As for paint fading because it's red, as long as it's washed and polished fairly regularly it will be fine. Usually red fades when it's been neglected.

Personally its miles better than the Furio, just much better made, so i'd rather have the ST over a GTi. Probs get better MPG with the GTi though lol.

Loads of boot space too, more than the Saxo, hell of alot comfier.

Anyways, onto the updates :)

Done a few minor things over the last 2 weeks. Will let the pics do the talking.

First job was to get rid of the rear wiper (standard):
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e242/baznett/Fiesta%20ST/IMAG0565.jpg

Then fitted a boot lock cover:
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e242/baznett/Fiesta%20ST/IMAG0569.jpg

Then I swapped my grey plastic bits for black ones and a rear diffuser (no pics yet) along with smoked side repeaters.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e242/baznett/Fiesta%20ST/IMAG0576.jpg

That is all for now, quick vid of the exhaust whatever it is, not too loud, 20db quieter from the inside than the Saxo lol

Not too bad, not a massive fan but looks like a good base for small mods.

My mate at work has a red Zetec S but with the rear bumper from an ST. He has the standard wheels in black with the red badges, lowered a tiny bit, not too sure how much, mmaybe 30mm.

I think he has a manifold that he ordered by mistake, he was told the ZS would be the same fitment as the ST but it's completely different, think the name Mountune rings a bell but i could be wrong.

Baz
2nd October 2012, 19:55
Cheers mate, looking at getting some eibach extra lows which lower the ST 35mm, 50mm from standard fiesta. Not really anything I want to do on the outside now. Not that I know of anyway

smoked side repeaters look a bit wank
not sure why you have dewipered the boot? Are you stripping it out? i thought you bought it for comfort items? strange.

Like most, not a fan, a thoroughbred birds car, what a bloke would buy his missis after buying a focus.

Still little undecided on the repeaters, there abit too dark. I dewipered the rear as there is no need for it, water runs straight off the glass, rear demister gets rid of mist and when on the M'way the spray don't stick to the rear as it does on the Saxo.

Not really sure how its a birds car but if thats what you think lol

lovely cars these just watch out for the problems with the clutch pedal there is a plastic clip which connects the pedal to the rod which actuates the hydraulics. The clips are prone to breaking, Had this problem with a mates st.

I wanted the Mountune Cais as well but they still use a 57i filter in a mountune airbox. For the cost of a K&N kit new or even second hand its well worth it the standard intake system is terrible.

Got them on a group buy on the fezza forum, £25 next day delivery from partbox. (last day today)

As said they go between the hub and beam, hence the funny shape.

They are originally for the Puma.

Need some help on what to do, still unsure on the red fog rings so wrapped one in some carbon I had left over.

Lowering at front: 35mm
Lowering at rear: 35mm
Made by Eibach exclusively for Rude Racing
Designed to work with standard shock absorbers
Progressive rate sports spring
No loss in ride quality

A true 35mm drop
Most spring manufacturers quote exaggerated lowering amounts for the ST150. They do not take into account the ST150 is already 15mm lower than standard models from the factory. These springs however will lower the ST150 by a genuine 35mm (front and rear). Until now, the only way to lower an ST150 by this amount was with a coilover kit!

Should look something like this:

Weird shaped spacers them

There alxe spacers and thay fit inbetween the drum/hub and the alxe and the reasson for the shape is that thay was made to be fitted on the disc setup and the back of the hub is that shape.

Old_School_Saxo
13th November 2012, 23:06
Think on the fiesta's they go on the axle? Might be completely wrong though haha

on most fords mk6 fiesta is the last mind and yes thay fit inbetween the axle and drum/hub.

She wont sound like that unless you get the whole system mind.

Both only come in full system terms, Simpson is a one off that was made for someone, the Janspeed will only fit if you buy the full system and manifold as shown in the video.

Bedford - I thought about the Miltek....only problem is that everyone has one because they still fit with the standard system. Obv means you can buy it in bits to save the hit on cost but I fancy something a little different.

and yes its a transponder for my new key that should be here today. Gonna get rid of the shit key for the flip key :)

Not gonna bother with a remap for just an induction kit and backbox. Depending on what route I take someone offers half price map if you buy Miltek from them.

Either way it'll probs end up at AMD in Northampton for a remap

Apparently these Duratec engines in the Fiesta have a massive restriction on the intake and in the exhaust pipe by removing these you go straight from 150bhp to nearer 170bhp, did you identify these or is it an old wives tale??

Does it go much faster now? I had one of these a few years ago, I loved it to bits but always wanted more power and didn't want to invest that much money on an 'experiment'

Gandi699
11th December 2012, 09:45
Thats the kit my mate uses on his MR200 so obviously flows well enough.

To the guy above, I reckon with this engine its the mild cams and the restrictive inlet manifold I believe that holds them back.
OP are you thinking about relocating the pas tank? Have heard these can boil the fluid pretty easily due to location over the exhaust.

leeroybrown

Definatly has the feel of abit more grunt! Wasnt thinking i'd get much like on the Saxo but defo has something there!

No intention at the min to move the PAS as it doesn't get driven to hard at the minute.

Most restrictive parts is the air filter, flexi pipe and the smaller TB which can be upgraded to 60mm

Does this mean you now have the MR165 kit?

Not quite, would need Manifold, sports CAT and generic mountune remap for that

My friend used to have one and full system induction etc and a remap but was limited to 165bhp unless you uprate the cams (what the mapping place told him.

If you do end up fitting a new manifold removing the scuttle makes it a lot easier. If you are on one of the fiesta sites I also did a guide for the inlet removal if you ever do go that way as well.
