My strut has some play, its apparent it comes directly from where the drive shaft sits into the hub. The rest of the strut is done up tight etc.
What would be the problem here?
- wrong drive shaft
- not tight enough
- not sitting in the hub correct
answers on a postcard.

Yeah a bearing over any other problem, why would you think its the driveshaft?

Sorry dude,
1999 furio mk2
Only issue is i have my shafts and have struts from a pals furio but they were bought from mandys lover so could be off another car. I cant really see the issue of what model as the setup is all the same.
Possibly a knackered wheel bearing?
Really? i can physically move the hub and driveshaft.

Might be the wrong shaft for the strut?
Recently put new struts on so i could have the tapered, non tapered bering/shaft muddled up would this cause this issue would it wreck the brearing?

so what your saying is that you can physically wobble the end of the driveshaft inside the strut? if you have a non tapered driveshaft in a tapered strut, that is probably where the play is coming from, and will either have to change the hub and bearing to suit the shaft, or vice versa

without looking at it in person i cant really be 100% tbh, but with the description you have given and the fact that you said you think you have the wrong type of driveshaft in the hub, im fairly sure that is the most likely cause
if thats the case, then you will need either a new hub and bearing, or a driveshaft so it fits right
also forgot to ask, is there any funny sounds or grinding from that area when driving?

Just make sure the bearing in the spare strut matches the shaft, otherwise it will be a matter of miles until it's destroyed again :y:
