Why bother watching we all know that they always sell the car to a crew member and they never factor in the wages of ed. So simple to do a car up and make money.....:homme:

I love that program - I have every episode on my computer... Not that i've actually had time to watch them all!

I actually really enjoy this programme.
Mike Brewer can be annoying at the best of times but I like how they describe step by step what they do to the car to get it up to scratch.

That's exactly why I watch it, learnt an awful lot of stuff from it tbh.
Everyone knows all the profit and selling the cars and stuff is all bollocks anyway!

they never factor in the wages of ed.
If it was a real life duo as in not set up for TV surely they'd just split whatever profit they make between the 2 of them? Ed has no expenditure, as all parts are totalled, and it keeps the work coming through his door.
As it is on TV, gotta remember they're being paid per episode etc. so they get more money for it then is shown.

Are you for real? You really think they actually pay the prices they put up for parts. Also ed has no expenditure what about the workshop the tools and that other dude that is always helping him. the show is a complete sham hosted by two blokes who have no real life experience of the motor trade well not recent anyway's.

Ed is a qualified engineer in product design not a mechanic. His vast mechanical skills were learned from his motorised bathtub and motorised toilet.

Missed it meh. Thankfully sky+ has come through promising a recording at 3 am yay!
Love the program. Sure a lot is setup, and sure there's some erros, but fuckin hell boys, it's entertainment. Relax!

Ofcourse not, but it'd be a pretty fucking awful programme if they made a loss every week, and who'd wanna take advice on how to do a car up to a sell-able standard from two bell ends making a loss week in week out?
What I meant by "If it was a real life duo as in not set up for TV" was, your Ed, your a mechanic with a workshop and own shit loads(of impeccably clean) tools; and ofcourse lots of sets of orange gloves. Your mate Mike comes round and asks you to change a clutch, some seats, and sort out a blowing exhaust - all with generally brand new or reconditioned parts he is supplying. He doesn't pay you labour, but offers you a 50-50 split on profits when he sells the car on(be that £200 or 5k).
When you factor in he also gets TV rights, in this instance, that takes away the need to pay his labour.

End of the day what else is there on TV that is UK based? Other than that vet who builds cars/planes/helicopters. I personally dont want to see american hammed up docu-soaps about hot rods or choppers constantly.

The bloke at the end who bought it was a friend of my dads. The haggling was a set-up. He offered them the money and they said yes but pretended to haggle etc for the tv.
Had the ac in my dads garage as soon as he bought it. It was very clean and quite a nice rep tbh.

Seems these guys are better wheeler dealers than Mike and Edd seeing as they sold it for £23k.

Yes but it was sold for £23k, and now for sale for £29k. Somehow can't see them knocking £6k off it. So even if they do sell it for £24k, they have still sold it for more than Mike and Edd. I havn't seen the episode, but im gonna guess he asked for top money for it also.
Williams harness, its written in the ad.:y:

Tbh I've always thought this because why would Mike go to the camera right infront of the bloke saying
"Im asking £24,000 for the car but I got a feeling he wants a bit of cash of, lets see what happens"
If it was real someone would intervene and say too right I want some fucking money off lol

Had to bump this thread.
Wheeler dealers + skyline = one bunch of fuck nuts.
They fitted a bigger intercooler that gives more boost? Removed a perfectly good spoiler to fit a Halford's special and a bunch of grommets to fill the holes "because race car".
What a bunch of cunts .

This is the kind of cars they should be doing, episodes with the sierra, 944, m3, 205 etc were brilliant. None of this shitty old jeeps and bentleys bollocks.

Seriously they had no clue on what to do with this. Any muppet can fit a intercooler kit, a bolt on spoiler and hardest thing he did was the rust repair and even that wasn't hard. Discovery needs to stop throwing money at these cunts.
Bring back Burnie and leepu!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only watched part one so far, but last weeks old yanky jeep was piss.
All these shows on discovery are just set up, and shit shit acting.
This, gold divers, strippers for cash, auction hunters, whale wars, american chopper all epitomise how shit discovery is now.

Only good thing about that skyline episode was the fact it got set up by Walton.
Cars a good car if you remove the spoiler and steering wheel.

Saj got a tidy deal on those Advan RG's, even after pretty much telling him they were expensive wheels.
