hey all,
i have recently posted wanted threads in various forums as im after a few bits, these consist of a full 8v turbo kit minus management (ecu and loom) rallye steels and a s1 rallye loom and ecu!
so within the hour i get a pm saying he has it all, so i was happy and i asked for a price and pics!
he has asked for 600 for the lot delivered and the pics he has given are ok for the wheels but the turbo picture is one you would find on ebay lol!
he has asked if i could pay him through money gram or western union (im sure ive seen negative comments on these)
anyways i've asked for more pictures of the lot with an a4 piece of paper with my name and date on it! also asked if he would accept paypal
should i proceed with the deal if the pictures i recieve are what i asked for or should i stay away!
any advice would be great :)

Sounds a little dodgy to me tbh.... so he randomly has a full 8v turbo kit, ralleye stellies and an s1 ecu and loom and is willing to deliver it all to you for around a little more than half of what it's worth.... but will only accept payment through less well known systems..... I'd stay away tbh unless if he can take a photo off them all with your name on and will take PayPal
Seems dodgy tbf though

The picture would prove he indeed owns the items.
If you trust him to deliver is another question.
What site has he contacted you on? Is there not a seller rep ect?
He sounds fairly knowledgeable on bank transfer which would hint either a scam or someone who uses this method alot :geek:

If I was spending that much on parts I'd go and collect, so I can see if it looks any good!

Key words: Moneygram & Western Union.
Avoid like a smelly minge. AVOID. It's a scam. End of.

If it seems to good to be true, sadly, it usually is :n:

For stuff worth £600 I would go and look at them in person if you're at a close distance. Other than that, sounds like a scam.

how far away is he?
go and look/collect
if its actually true (which i doubt it is) then you would have a bargain which would cover your travel costs

If he is delivering then whats wrong with paying cash? Sounds a bit fishy to me.. But see if your able to view them in person and if its legit (which i doubt) then theres no issue.

Very surprised you didn't see this was a scam a mile off... Surely you are the most gullible person alive?

wasnt that, i was enquiring about it and wanted to see if he was legit by doing pictures with todays date and my name on it to see if he has the items in question!

where does he live? Pay me £100 and I will collect it all and send it if he is local :y: will still work out as a bargain for you.

Even if he did, I'd still steer clear of anyone who asked for moneygram or western union...

Surely, even if he did do a photo with the stuff with your name and the date on it, it could easily be photoshopped? not to mention, even if he DID actually have those parts, what's to say he will send them?
The methods he is asking you to pay, very rarely will you get a refund if it goes "tits up".
I'd stay away

Play him at his own game.
Ask him for ALL his bank details so you can wire the money straight in. Tell him your bank needs all his card details including the security code on the back.
