View Full Version : Do you allow smoking in the car ? Or do you smoke...

Mike_420
20th September 2012, 15:15
Im a smoker but i hate getting ash in my car and the stench it leaves over so most friends know not to light up in my car, we wait or smoke outside simple.

but i find it very rude when your just driving along and someone, a friend or a friend of a friend in the back lights up and stinks the car out, of course the fag gets thrown out but i wouldn't light a cigarette in someone else's car without asking,

so do you smoke in your car ? are you a neat freak like me and hate ash/smell everywhere ?

had to hover yesterday as someone lit up in the back and left a burn mark on the seat! no one will own up. barstewards.

Don't smoke, don't know anyone who smokes, so not an issue for me. I used to, and made them smoke with windows down for a bit, then I started making them get out or wait. Wouldn't bother now, would just make them wait.

No one allowed in my car. Not even my parents. But I don't smoke and they all respect this. Even told a girl to get out if she wanted to light up. So she opens and sits on the sill. I tells her no right out. Bit mean I know but the seats in my mk2 fiesta are really hard to come by and didn't want fag ash/ burns in them. So I don't let anyone who has just lit up anywhere near the mk2 or saxo.

You don't eat whilst driving? Absolutely standard Saturday morning behaviour - Scoffing a Mcdonalds breakfast wrap with a coffee in the cup holder whilst cruising down the A66 using my knees to steer. Absolute badass.

20th September 2012, 15:22
Yes and yes... I do smoke in my car however my car gets airfreshened constantly so youd never know by the smell and there is very very rarely anyone in the back so no danger there and no fag burns to be seen anywhere.

I hate ash in my car so as soon as i notice it, the hoover comes out!!

And if i didnt smoke in my car and someone lit up without asking, they would be completing there journey on foot. I'd never light up in someones car who didnt smoke and i always ask even if they do.

It's not just me then, i dont mind eating, tho i can only think of times when its been me and one other mate eating at mcds or the like,

I don't smoke, but as long as a friend asks, i'll usually let them have a fag, simply because most cars i buy, are under £1000, so they will already have been smoked in..

When i get something i actually like, i won't be allowing it..

Nope I don't smoke and if you light one in my car, you may find yourself exiting the car at 70mph.

I suppose if i wasn't using my car for work and having to hover / power wash every few days then id be real pissy, but it has to be cleaned anyway.

tho i know what its like spending hours on your interior then having dust / fag ash go everywhere

I don't smoke and definitely don't let people smoke in her - if they smell that's a definite no-no, as well. I'm a proper neat freak to the extent that I don't like the air fresheners that hang down off the rear view mirror, or even my twat-nav really. I used to let people eat but that's not allowed anymore. Only time I allow drinking is when it's in bottles and is water.

Friends are few and far between these days... :P haha

I smoke, smoked in my saxo as i didnt really care much for it.

I do not smoke in the EP3, NO WAY!

Gf's mum used to smoke in the back of the saxo and flick her ash on the floor FUCK it used to make me so angry when i saw it a few days later. Ungratful or WHAT!

20th September 2012, 16:34
Yes i smoke, in the polo yes what ever you want try not to get ash inside tho... Food drink sex (just dont block the rear view mirror...) pretty much anything goes

Audi no fags no food no drink no dirty shoes or clothes no dirty hands no long finger nails (always seem to scratch the heater controls) no feet on dash no drunks

NO DRUGS
NO ALCHOHOL (open or being consumed whilst in the car)

Smoking will never happen in my car. And if they've just had a fag recently I don't let them get in my car as it still smells then.

I also banned smoking at home. I make my mum and dad smoke outside. Winter soon too. Has made them both cut down too which is good from a financial/health point of view.

I don't mind bottled drink but cans and food are not to be consumed in my car. Also no fizzy drinks. Worse thing is having your mate open a shook up fizzy drink in your car.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a different story, last season I got a bottle of bubbly for man of the match. Left it in the back of my car and drove home (harder suspension, bumpier ride). Anyway got close to getting home and I heard a big POP :P yup, for some reason the bottle of bubbly popped open and sprayed F1 podium style in the back of my old VTR aha. Made me shit myself at the time.

I don't allow smoking in my car and I make sure if the person is smoking, they finish it way before getting to the car. A mate and I were stuck in heavy, heavy, traffic after FCS this year. He basically walked alongside the car lol. Eating I will allow, mainly because I only have one passenger, so there isn't a lot of food, plus I always eat/drink.

i smoke in mine and let others smoke, but i do hate it when a friend of a friend etc just randomly sparks up without asking, its just common courtesy !

but i do hate the ash it leaves everywhere so give my car a good hoovering up etc every few days

I dont mind eating or drinking as long as they are careful, I dont smoke and no one is smoking in my car ever, i dont car if it has no roof, no one is smoking end of.

Another thing that pisses me off is if someone is smoking in their car which you are a passenger in :n:

the 'but ill hang out the window' line always makes me laugh..

i dont smoke and i dont think people i know are rude enough to try in any of my cars.

eating and drinking is ok as long as its cleaned up if they make a mess.

main one is dont complain about my music or driving that gets on wick.

I once bought a tigra off a woman who was a heavy smoker. Every ash tray was full to the brim, carpets were covered in fag butts, must have been hundreds all over the carpets, even the empty packets were just flung on the floor. Windows and plastics were covered in nicotene, was fuking mankin. Took me a whole day to clean the inside was unbelievable. Was shocked when i had finished, not 1 single burn on anything. Days cleaning made up for the £650 profit though.

No makes me sick when I see someone smoking in brand new cars aswell

Dunno why because it's there car,do what they like with it but it annoys me lol

I sold a mint vectra few months back, had been my granddads from brand new (1998)

Proper scruffy bloke turned up for it (ebay) and lit a fag up as soon as he got init to drive off!

That did upset me a bit after it had been like brand new aswell 30k miles interior had seat covers on all it's life etc!

Don't smoke and don't let me people smoke in my car, closest I've let someone smoke by my car is when me and my mate were on the way back from French car show, and he sat facing outside the car with door open (we were parked up)

Not too fussed if people eat in my car a long as they don't make a mess, pisses me off when they leave rubbish in my car though when it's normally spotless.

Clearly he means because it is a shame, that a mint car will now have its interior clean smell replaced with a stale smoky odour. He didn't say at any point that he shouldn't be allowed to smoke in the car now he owns it.

I don't allow it.

Once I was giving a random pretty bird a lift somewhere on a night out and she lit up in the car, I'll admit I let her get on with it, I just put her window all the way down lol.

If it's the lads they either put it away or they walk.

hahhahhahaa

oh my god.

That's amazing.

I don't let anyone in my car if they've recently had a shit or handled animals as they stink.

I smoke in my car, I smoke in other peoples who don't smoke, too. I ask first mind.. Or if they're a really close friend.. and I really want it.. it's gonna happen.. But I don't often get lifts so it's not a problem.

I personally don't mind the smoking, even in the BMW I didn't mind it. Its going to depreciate anyway, what difference is the odd cigarette going to do. (In the grand scheme of things, nothing, no smart arse replies.)

As to food and drink, I eat all the time, and drink, Coffee and Diet coke, fast food, I sling the rubbish into the bag I usually have in my car to throw out at the end of the journey.

Fat bird wouldn't be sitting there in the first place. She would be taking a cab ;)

Maybe I'll try that tactic, see if I can emulate your apparant success ;)

If the fat bird does also light up a fag while we're driving however, I shall make it my moral obligation to reach across and open her door, unclip her belt and boot her flab-tastic-ass out the car while travelling at speed.

Nope - the Quiksilver is my first car but when I move on, a smokers car that absolutely stinks of it would be a deal breaker unless alot was taken off the asking price to fog out the car to remove the smell, tar etc. - I really am anal about my cars. The 'rents haven't either - my Dad's current car was spanking brand new last month and the previous one was an ex-demo.

My Mum's work horse is an ex-mobility car as well, so doubt that's ever been smoked in. It smells more of wood shavings at present from carting (surprise, surpise) wood shavings around haha

I used to smoke in the saxo. The driver side window didnt open either so the ashtray was always full. It was horrible, but i needed to smoke to calm my nerves whilst driving it (pretty horrid to drive!).
Since i've got the rover, I bought myself a pipe, for obvious reason but i'll never allow anyone to smoke in there. Previous owner was a smoker and it took me weeks to make it smell good, and its a pleasure to be in there now. :)
