UFC 152 : Jones v Belfort / Benavidez v Johnson / Bisping v Stann

Finally UFC is back after a few months absence due to UFC 151 being cancelled. What a card though, cannot wait.
Saturday 3am, ESPN.

Fight card :

Jon Jones vs Vitor Belfort (LHW Title)

Joseph Benavidez vs Demetrious Johnson (FW Title)

Michael Bisping vs Brian Stann

Evan Dunham vs T.J. Grant

Matt Hamill vs Roger Hollett

Main event Jones vs Belfort. Belfort taking the fight on 4 weeks notice after Jones refused to fight Sonnen on a weeks notice when Henderson pulled out of 151. Jones has never really been under any threat and has destroyed everyone. Belfort is stepping up to LHW from MW although he is naturally a LHW. If the old Vitor turns up he defiantly has a chance, fastest hands in MMA and sick BJJ. He's my favorite fighter of all time so hoping he pulls off an upset !

Benavidez vs Johnson for the very first UFC Flyweight title should be an entertaining bout. The smaller guys always put on good fights with their speed and agility.

Then you have Bisping vs Stann, power vs technique. Whoever wins convincingly will probably be next in line to face Silva for the MW title. Bisping has a suspect chin but is extremely disciplined and has great technique in his striking. If he can avoid Stann's heavy bombs he should win.

Anderson's next opponent is Stephan Bonnar @ 205 man, no idea what that's all about, but it's at 153.

Why not? Nobody is unbeatable and nobody remains at the top forever... Everyone has a time. Vitor still has very quick, very powerful hands. If he shows up and shows no intimidation, it could be over very quickly indeed. I do believe he has just joined a very good team as well, Blackzillians.

I'm not saying itcant happen I'm just saying i don't think it's likely due to jones donminance so far, and machida also has fast powerful hands and is much more technical and accurate and he had some success in the first round but didnt last long.

All I'm saying is that is the closest comparison to who jones has fought that's all. Don't get me wrong I would like it to happen just wouldn't put any money on it. Also if u asked who has the better stand up with machida and vitor

Machida is a great counter puncher and so elusive with his karate background. But IMO Belfort is the better striker, his speed, power and raw aggression will be the toughest Jones has had to face. Not to mention he's a Gracie BJJ black belt..

Would have to disagree regarding vitor as a better striker however his style may prove more difficult for jones. Someone needs to really pressure him, we haven't seen that yet opponents tend to let him get off first, for Belfort to win he's gotta really get in jones face

In a way I'm glad 151 got cancelled because this card is stacked and Belfort vs Jones will be better than Jones vs Hendo.

But the blame should also be on the UFC for having such a weak card that they had to cancel it without the main event.

Yer 152 is stacked 2 titles on the line. really though i can't comprehend how jones wouldn't take that fight, like u say sonnen wasn't anywhere near ready and he stepped up, plus hes a natural middleweight who just got tko'ed by silva. i really think jones wins that easily and also he's the champ he should take on all challengers

He gave Jones his toughest fight yet, and it's just been announced Belfort fought with a broken hand!
He should stay at LHW now, it's his natural weight and there's so many good fights for him in that division.

I thought he did well, I would have liked him to let those hands go a bit more, it would be very interesting to see how he stands among the other LHWs, shogun machida, Gustaffsson. Was impressed with bisping's performance his wrestling looked good, granted it was against Stann but still.

I was disappointed with that fight, was hoping for non-stop action but apart from one round is was boring as fuck !
