Wont select gear

I was driving to work and slowed down for a cyclist when trying to select gear was difficult had to slam it into it and now every time i change gear i have to force it into gear. when changing gear it makes a grinding noise like the clutch is up i assumed was the clutch i adjusted it when i got to work went into gear fine when stationary but as soon as i start moving i have to force it again i think it could be the drive shaft turning the gear box but im not sure wondered if anyone else had the same problem if someone would help would be much appreciated !!!!!

Once you've got that lot, shout back in here and someone will doubtless be right in to help!

(PS - It's most likely a clutch cable issue - it's an automatic adjustment cable (which we'll know when you tell us the spec of your car) then replace the cable. If it's manual adjustment, it probably just needs adjusting :))
