Some people who have me on Facebook might have seen but there is a scam going round at the moment.

It's a Romanian company called Mobil Pay, I've done a quick search on the net about them.

They got my card details (no idea how) took £5.60 out and it charged me 11p international charge.

Their tactic is to withdraw small amounts over a long period of time so most people don't spot it but I check my online account daily and noticed it straight away.

My bank have cancelled my card straight away and are going to refund me the full amount by 5pm tomorrow.

Does make me a bit worried though how they managed to get it, says it was a Visa transaction so this means they managed to get a hold of my security number card number etc..... :n:

Keep an eye that this doesn't happen to you.

Thanks for the heads up.

Crafty buggers, no idea how they get the details unless as mentioned skimmmers or perhaps some sort of online spyware or something.

No problem jazz, It has had me worried but I just think it could have been a lot worse. Although when I just rung my bank there the woman said it could have been £5 or £500 I still would have got the money back as the insurance covers it which is nice, she said in cases where they can see it's blatantly a scam they will always refund the money.

Normal they will test the account to ensure they can withdraw from it.
Then one the first day of the new month, they will attempt to empty the account. Right after pay day :n:

So they may of had your details for quite awhile, but only now testing it before the end of the month.
Could of got your details anywhere & held off for any period of time

It's why itunes is a ball ache with passwords now.
Scammers would try and buy a 99p song off itunes with your details.
Because it would instantly clear. If it worked ...
They then listen to the song you bought them on loop untill payday! :dj:
Bastards!

Good thing you caught it early :y:

Maybe you could get fat girls to pay you to have sex with them.

"Hey, don't look at me like that, fat chicks need love too, but they gotta pay!"

haha

Ive had my card cloned last year, how i dont know. I always cover when entering my pin and only used secure websites when buying stuff only, most which i use paypal for anyway. They took £47 out in total, didnt even notice it. It was 4x £10 top ups for O2 and a mobile game download, im on vodafone contract for a start.

It wasnt untill whoever had my details tried buying a train ticket at a station that the card got rejected as they tried buying a ticket worth £80 (told by the bank guy on the phone) which they troed to purchse in southampton about 10 minutes after i used my card at my local shop. Some banks do catch it like they did with me, i didnt even know untill i got a letter in the post asking me to ring up. Cheeky c units need to get jobs and stop taking peoples money!
