For £3k you would be able to buy a decent VTR or westie and still be able to insure it, Get a westie, still got the kit and cheap insurance.

spend 2 1/2 on a VTR save the other 500 for insurance for it ^^

yeah get yourself a nice furio, i got my 02 plate furio at 3grand, and it easy on the insurance compared to a vtr

£2k for a hlaf decent mk1 vtr,go with elephant insurance and youl probably have change left to do a few mods eg,induction kit or getting it lowered.

gotta agree with soulless their. You can easily pic up a decent vtr and insure it easily for that money.

not bein funny mate but whos guna insure a 17 year old on a vtr for £500,unless they go on there parents insurance.my insurance on a vtr was £500 when i was 21 and had 3 years no claims and even that was good.

Stiil not guna be 500. I just tried in my own name with Elephant third party and it said 2800, I live in a good area with no claims or anything. (And someone here reccomended elephant)

How do u know its a girl? Did you think she said blondie.

IMO getting a VTR at 17 is a waste of money. Sure its faster than a westy or 1.1 but you are going to be paying nearly as much as the car on insurance. Svae the money for other things, like mods

imo you should go for a westcoast or a furio, because you will soon get bored with a 1.1. 3k should bag you a nice westy/furio with enough cash left to insure the bugger.

You could get yourself a low mileage Furio and put the change towards your insurance. In the future if you want a VTR you could just exchange the engine and get new brear breaks.

Bondie id recommend gettin the westie or furio, thers no comparison between them and the 1.1 for looks and im sure the insurance gap wouldnt be too big!

f***s sake. this person is asking about getting a 1.1 or whatever so why start giving them advice about something else??? :err:

they might not fancy the added insurance, tax, running costs etc.

£3000 you'll be able to get a 2002 reg onwards easily (facelifted version)
If the £3k includes getting your own insurance then expect to set aside a good £1000+ on getting your policy.
