How often do you wash your hands ?

I'm a bit of a clean freak, obviously I always wash hands thoroughly after using the loo, but I always wash them after dealing with people, like hand-shakes, touching surfaces, typing etc., and always before I eat.

What are you lot like, much the same, or do you find it acceptable to have a quick piss and grab sandwich.

Also, that dreaded moment when your washing your hands in the toilet of a Cinema for example, and you see some dirty fucker walk out the cubicle and reach for the handle. Urrrrrgh. I'm praying someone else comes in when im done drying LOL. Discuss.

At work I wash my hands a lot. I spend four days a week as a baker so wash a fair few times but I spend one day a week as a confectioner (makes cakes) and I must wash my hands 50 times in 9 and a half hours. I have to wash my hands after having a piss or its constantly on my mind. Also have to have to handling my snake as they can carry salmonella. If I forget to wash my hands I feel funny when I remember lol.

Not gonna lie. I work in a public shop. I handle money, use the hand rails, whizz and don't bother washing b4 my lunch.
My immune system has built up a very thick immunity to common germs.
However, food prep at home, im very clean and thorough, aswell, my car has a mini hand sanitzer.

when i'm leaving public bathrooms i always use a paper towel to open the door. plus there is nearly always a bin beside the door so keep it propped open with my foot then pop the towel in the bin. sorted.. no germy hands for me!

I'm not bothered about having dirty hands, I work in an engineering company so I'll often go out on the shop and pick up dirty items, I'll wash my hands when I can but i'm not bothered if it's a while later. Always wash my hand before and after a slash though.

I wash my hands the general amount (before eating, after I use the toilet whenever I go on break ect) but there's a guy at my work who sometimes doesn't wash before eating god knows if he does after he uses the toilet :ill: I'm an engineer so my hands are dirty when I'm working so the shit he must transfer onto what he's eating must be unreal.

It makes me cringe the amount of people on a night out go for a piss and don't wash their hands. :barf:

Does anyone else when they use a public toilet try and open the door in places when people wouldn't usually touch eg the top part that makes the door close slowly or at a bottom part of the handle?

This ...

Top of the light cords aswell if they have them.
If I have bothered to wash my hands... i often wait for someone else to open the door.

I'm a cleaner in a care home, I wash my hands before break or lunch and before/after going to to the loo. I also have a mini hand santiser on my uniform and one in my car. Also going through doors I open using my feet at the bottom or push them open nearer the top, never on the silver push plate, use the top or the light cords, press switches with my knuckles, same with cash machine buttons too.

Yeah I clean everything in the home, but it takes 2 minutes for it to be germ infested again lol.
When I decorate I'm totally different. Eat food with dry paint, dirt or whatever on my hands and just don't bother.

For opening toilet doors I tend to use my little finger on my left hand. Just think that's probably the one I use the least. I don't get too worked up about it though, whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger and all that.

A few bugs are good for you - a healthy immune system needs exposure to pathogens!

But, basic hygene protects you as well!

I try to ride both sides!

You can't be antiseptic in my profession (ambulance), as some people are right dirty sods (wipe your boots on the way out), but I try and keep my vehicle (and myself) the
best that I can.
Unless we are finished and off late in which case, sod it and go!!!!!!

i agree with this, if my toddler can pick everything up off the floor and mouth it, then im sure i dont need to wash my hands everytime i move from room to room, or touch a new surface like some people on here seem to :panic: most of you have probably eaten insects and dirt of the floor at some point in your childhood and youre still alive

i wash my hands for the basics, after the bathroom, changing really disgusting nappies, handling food and thats about it for me. i spend 90% of my time at home though and i know i keep everything clean :D

I finger blasted a girl on the monday and I could still smell her on my fingers the following weekend.... I'm a dirty rotter!!!

I KID

I wash after the toilet, when I have sticky hands etc..

Some people seem a bit OCD, handling money doesn't make me want to wash my hands, but I must wash my hands if I shake hands with someone who is sweaty/clammy... Just makes me feel violated!!

I must admit if I'm absolutely pissed up clubbing, I don't think I wash my hands...however at the pub or any other time I go to the toilet i do :/

Once a day lol

The last time I was sick or had anything, even a cough or sore throat was when I was about 7 years old. I don't come into contact with anything dirty really, only my own stuff.

I wash my hands probably more than some but washing your hands after going to the toilet (both outcomes haha) and such like is just common sense IMO. My old job was working on tills at a supermarket so I'd always wash my hands before having lunch and going on my break and such like. Again, I see that as common practice as money is said to be one of the dirtiest things around and after seeing some of the customers coughing and spluttering all over you at that place, they can't be too far of the money they hand over tbh... :S

In my new job it's predominatly office work so I'm not dealing with filthy customers for hours on end - much better IMO :y: I have to wash my hands or make sure they're clean before getting into the car but that's just because I want to keep the car clean... old lady Griff reckons I have OCD with the amount of times I wash my hands but mehhhhh :P

I obviously wash my hands after going to the toilet, before cooking etc.... But cmon after "touching surfaces, typing etc". Thats a bit over the top isnt it?

Im very rarely ill either. a bit of bad bacteria is good for ya man ;)

ha, good lad!

awk na i just wash my hands the usualy amount like, after the loo, before eating, if they're really dirty etc.. and sanitizers are handy just in case! dirtiest things i come into contact with are horses and my car to be fair n always will wash my hands after being round either. imo, it's good to have a wee bit of dirt in your life though, yer immune system will be shite otherwise..

Wash them every time I go to the toilet and always before I cook dinner.

I have a shower before breakfast so that counts right?

Surprising how many people at work don't wash their hands after going for a piss....and then open doors etc. Don't know why I bother really as everything I touch here has the aids.

wash after loo and before handling food. I have seen and heard some right skanks before justifying being skanky because "it builds yer immune system innit".

Recently seen a kid scratching/fondling his dick and balls while having a quick chat, then reached for the milk bottle in the fridge and had a drink of it while rubbing the cap in the same hand that he used to scratch his dick. I couldn't help but open my mouth about one, please don't touch yourself in public and two, no thanks I won't have another cuppa because I don't fancy any dickcheese in my tea.

You have to be careful, washing hands is all very well, but if you are using anti-bacterial wash then you are washing off the 'good' bacteria layer off your hands which can cause eczema and other skin conditions. Also you are helping to produce 'resistent' bacteria which is why we are in the horrendous problem now of the anti-biotic/resistent strain cycle which really can't be broken now.

You'll have a shower once a day, wash after going to the loo but all this alcohol/anti-bacterial sanitiser followed by hand cream is really OTT and will cause more problems than it'll stop

As posted above, kids lick/smell/wipe/mouth EVERYTHING and there are now many studies linking an anti-septic upbringing to teen/adult allergies, asthma, hay fever, and general malaise.

I can't imagine the amount of dirt/oil/grime and general crud I've ingested while looking up at a broken saxo on jacks, then eaten a bacon sandwich provided by the missus with oily hands!
