Little help

Just changing the spring on the front of the car but seems that my shock is also duff. When replacing do I need the whole part including wheel hub or can I just get a front shock? If that makes sense or has anyone ever change 1 before that could give me a tip? Cheers

the shock is an insert, when the spring is off, undo the damper collar and it will slide out

Its generally recommended to replace them in pairs by the way.
